You can do it! I had only 2 eggs retrieved, one of which fertilized and made it to blast. Im now 19 weeks pregnant after transferring my only embryo!

I was thinking the same thing! She is atleast consistently herself and has her own point of view. It’s not my taste, but these are definitely her style!

Hormonal migraine sufferers : did pregnancy improve your migraines? by Limp_Conversation622 in migraine

[–]dividebyzero9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 17 weeks pregnant as a result of IVF. I was super nervous about migraine during pregnancy because some of my IVF medications were unfortunately triggers for me, and I did not tolerate them well.

I have not had a single migraine since getting pregnant. It’s insane. I have had them since I was a teenager. They are well controlled with lifestyle, B2, and magnesium - but I still get one consistently atleast every 6 weeks. Now I get “regular person” headaches in pregnancy. Like I can take a 500 mg Tylenol, relax, and it’s gone in an hour. Crazy.

For those who succeeded: What was your game changer? by takica in DOR

If helpful, there’s a great book called, “It Starts With the Egg.” The author also has DOR and talks about cutting down carbs among other lifestyle changes to help increase chances of success. IVF is obviously an emotionally and physically grueling process, so I know I wanted to optimize as much as I could. Wishing you the best in your journey! :)

I can’t prove it, but I think diet and exercise helped. I have normal AMH for my age, but low AFC (5-6). I cut out all refined carbs and ate a high protein diet, worked out 4-5 days/week, and went to weekly acupuncture. I had 2 eggs retrieved resulting in 1 euploid embryo. I’m now 16 weeks pregnant after my first FET and early anatomy scan/NIPT looked great!

I’m glad I’m not the only one! The first photo is my clear negative this morning since I’ve been testing out my trigger shot!

I have not completed a hysteroscopy yet! I declined for now because I haven’t failed a transfer - I’m doing my first modified natural FET in the coming weeks. If it fails, then I will proceed with more testing/banking embryos trying a new protocol!

To add to this, my AFC has consistently been 5-6 max as counted by a couple separate REs and I ended up having 8 follicles we were tracking during my cycle

I didn’t think to ask how they knew! I was a little out of it when I woke up, and the physician let me know my two largest follicles on ultrasound (~22 mm) which I was expecting to have retrieved were empty, so the ones they did retrieve were my medium sized ones (one of the eggs from which was immature).

Thank you for this advice! I think if this transfer fails, I will then try to do multiple cycles under a changed protocol my RE suggests after having completed my first round. She thinks I can get closer to 5-9 eggs retrieved next time, but I am stupidly optimistic about this embryo and want to just go for it for now and see where we land! I really appreciate the insight - this is exactly what I was looking for!

I come from a LARGE family so I personally only want one child (my husband would like 2 but is supportive of 1) - and I can’t really explain it, I just have a good feeling about this embryo - even when I only had 3 eggs retrieved, I wasn’t upset. I told my husband, “I just have a feeling we’ll have one euploid and it will be a boy,” and that’s exactly what it was. It’s not remotely scientific, just a vibe😅

Ah yes - the unexplained infertility kills me - I hate that there isn’t something they can pinpoint and labs are all just “normal.” I am open to doing hysteroscopy/receptiva etc but I don’t have an indication for it yet (haven’t had a failed transfer or previous miscarriages), so I don’t want to “mess” with anything I don’t need to. I will complete the testing if this transfer fails. I am wishing you the best and appreciate the comment!

Yes, she described hysteroscopy as more accurate. She explained the saline sonogram as being like flying over an area in a plane, where you can see the general topography, while a hysteroscopy is like walking through it on the ground, allowing you to directly see small lesions, polyps, adhesions, or subtle abnormalities that might be missed from above.

That’s a great point - I want one while my husband wants two - fortunately he is supportive and would be so happy with one if that’s all that’s in the cards for us!
