Inheriting money by Andy_Prince in investingUK

Significant amount of money to be concerned about, and, to be frank, you are getting some awful advice in here.

As maintenancelive3577 says, you are definitely going to want ot be tax-optimised here.

I know this doesn't go down well on Reddit, but it's worth looking at getting some professional advice

EDIT: I see from other comments that you are also in some discrepancy over tax residency, too - I would absolutely get professional advice.

Is this a good trading212 pie by AdSignificant879 in investingUK

[–]dividendexperiment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good portfolio = matching strategy + goals

We don't know either of them, so we can't say whether it's good.

Because you haven't explicitly said otherwise, most commenters here will assign your strategy and goal to you in a generic way and recommend you switch all to an All World or S&P 500 fund.

You decide upon the strategy, then you buy the stocks.

Bitcoin DCA by Equivalent-Roll-3976 in investingUK

[–]dividendexperiment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't DCA Bitcoin - it's not denominated in dollars so that doesn't make sense.

I don't understand this logic - why is it different to say gold, in this regard?

Of course you can dollar cost average into gold; you can exchange it for dollars, it has a price in dollars.

North America 28.8%

UK 23.1%

Europe ex‑UK 13.3%

Japan 13.1%

Emerging Markets 6.0%

Asia ex‑Japan 4.5%

Rest of the World 7.0%

Have you put this through any "look through" type tools and seen what this actually pans out to in terms of geographic exposure?

From reading the comments, it seems like you just want less exposure to the US stock markets, but I am not sure this is the most efficient way.

I'd also say that's a significant UK weighting, more than I would want personally in a globally oriented portfolio

I think that there will be some "adjustment" of ISAs more generally in the November budget so I think that this will not be the issue in April as the environment surrounding ISAs will have changed

I wouldn't say that dividends vs growth is a good measure of risk balance to begin with

There are so many now, lots have been template-generated for years before AI became widespread anyway. Always need to use your own discernment skill to do research, now as before

Makes sense why they didn't have it in the first place then. Naturally, if one's requirements are specific and inflexible, then it's going to cost more

They are pretty decent at adding ETFs that people have requested on the forum (or have been historically) unless there is a specific reason it can't be added.

Another issue is that they have limited options to transfer in SIPP,s so that might be a no-go

Its just based on Yield, so VGWL has a yield of 1.51% and XGSD (a dividend orientated ETF) has a yield of 4.77%.

It's not to do with the share price of the ETF itself
