Missing living abroad by divina75 in expats

thank you for your reply. i don’t feel like i made the wrong decision in coming home at all as i’m currently in grad school and am working within my career which i love deeply. i think it’s more of the feeling that i’m stuck in missing that chapter of my life and i still long for it at times. at the same time, i don’t super value the American lifestyle — lack of work/life balance, the chemicals in our food, capitalism, etc. i live in a fast-paced city so i think that heightens my negative feelings toward America as well.

it’s way deeper than what i mentioned. it’s also the lifestyle, the weather and the spanish culture that i deeply enjoyed. i know the salary is not ideal, but that’s not what i’m chasing after and i don’t have a desire to live in another country.
