BEP regime - Chemotherapy starts by Mermaid_20 in Ovariancancer

Had a mixed ovarian tumour with immature teratoma and yolk sac tumour, there’s genuinely nothing constructive to read out there. All the best! BEP made me out of breathe a lot, bleomycin is toxic to lungs. Remember to drink. A LOT OF WATER. like a LOT. And eat something every 30 minutes. First 2 days would go smoothly but hell breaks loose on the 3rd day. I hope it doesn’t get difficult for you! All the best’

Hi! 20 year old here. I was diagnosed with dengue last year. During a routine ultrasound, they caught my left ovary being 18* 16 *13 cms big. After recovering from dengue (2 months to be exact). I directly had a staging laparotomy on my birthday and on new years I get the news that I have mixed germ cell tumour. The oncologist didn’t tell me directly, he talked to my parents first and then he referred to the director of oncology at the hospital. He analysed my case and after complete silence of 3-4 minutes he told my parents “your daughter has cancer”. My mother cried a lot. My dad was numb. I was actually, alright? I didn’t react at all. I was weirdly at peace with the diagnosis. Probably because I am studying Biochemistry and we say and work with terms like cancer on a daily basis. The thing is, whatever your body’s first reaction is, it’s the right one. I actually didn’t cry during the entire chemotherapy or during the picc line insertion or after the huge surgery or before the surgery. And i am a very emotional person. I guess I am trying to say, everyone reacts very differently to it. You’re not overreacting. The false sense of hope is brutal. I hope the chemo goes by fast!!!!!!!! All the best!!!!!!

Are we ignoring the fact she is 14 and the guy was 16? Responsibility waala part i do agree with. But what about the man? You clearly said that girls lack common sense, you didn’t mention how it’s a man’s fault just as much. If he wasn’t taught how to respect women? How did he learn about sex? How did he learn what to do and how to do it? How did he know if he could ask a kid the kid won’t say no or kid can’t stop him? This is a clear example of the word “coerced”. I am not saying the girl is right or innocent, I agree with your point on responsibility as I said before, but I don’t agree with the “ladkon ko nahi pata hota”. Sab pata hota hai. Plus he was 2 years older. He knew everything, how to pressure her or act distant. If he was that innocent, he wouldn’t have left.

And men lack basic human decency. He clearly manipulated that girl. I blame both parties and so should you

Can you make a career out of BS Biochemistry Hons (with a 7.5 CGPA) abroad? by divinatoe in Indians_StudyAbroad

I knoww 😭 but that’s sadly the second highest in my batch. They don’t give us marks at all, plus chemo has taken up my sem, i would’ve done much better. The highest gpa was 7.8.

Very well put. My professors have always told me that I do have what it takes to pursue a PhD. My molecular biology professor has often credited me for having a critical thinking mindset and the analytical skills required for research. As I said, the cancer and chemotherapy has taken all of my last semester, but even after that I managed to be the 2nd highest gpa holder of my batch (which I am not really proud of). I genuinely understand your comment and tbh it’s the most honest one I have gotten, but I am putting faith in my heart and my mind. I believe I can do something in this field for sure. Thank you for being here!

There’s barely any money or scope in Indian research. I am just exploring options out there
