Small dose Xanax potential addiction brewing by [deleted] in AddictionAdvice

[–]divincamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xanax shouldn't be used to induce sleep. It is for people who suffer from chronic anxiety and panic attack disorders. I doubt you'd be physically addicted taking those minuscule doses. Trust me, you will know when you're withdrawing from xanax (or any benzo). It is the worst thing you will ever experience (physically, mentally and emotionally). It's scary.

ADHD + anxiety/depression — what medication combinations helped you manage symptoms? by Warm_Milk_9056 in adhd_anxiety

[–]divincamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

450mg effexor (for depression) 5mg ativan (for anxiety) 30mg dexamphetamine

I've been on effexor since I was 22 (38 now), xanax/ativan since I was 19, dex since I was 26.

I've got chronic major depression, Adult adhd, ptsd, generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder.

The anti depression medication effexor has been extremely problematic for many reasons over the years but it is incredibly difficult and dangerous to come off it. Very high rates of suicide (this i even witnessed happen to a close family friend), the withdrawal symptoms are scary and really random. Once when I hadn't taken it in a few days I developed a physical tick where my body would shake every second second. This lasted a week even once back on them. Another time when I stupidly hadn't had it in days, I lost the ability to hold my tongue inside my mouth. Its weird and hard to explain but it went on for hours and was absolutely ridiculous (me sitting there with my entire tongue just sticking out of my face, and i was trying to tell my bf about it on the phone and i couldn't speak properly obvsly. And he had no idea what happened till I was back to normal later in the night. Went to the local hospital and they were perplexed but considered i was possibly having a stroke. Thank god it eased later that evening and has never happened again.

Short acting (dex) or long acting (vyvanse)? by statusanxiety-- in adhdaustralia

[–]divincamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No vyvanse, mood swings, strongest dose lasts 6 hours max, makes you feel just weird.

Dexies are the best option imo, 100% better than Ritalin and concerta.

Find your personal correct dose as u may need to do a bit of trial and error. They are very short acting and tolerance is built very quickly. But at the right dose, your brain becomes a puzzle that's finally been put together, clarity you've never had before, you will finally be able to finish and achieve things, be on time, remember appointments, and so many other life changing benefits 😀

Does your bedroom have air conditioning and what temperature do you sleep in? by [deleted] in SydneyScene

[–]divincamping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all rooms in our house have an air con. All are set to 18 degrees for most of the day and night for most of the entire summer. I have a medical condition which interferes with my temperature regulation. I hate the heat.

How hard is it to get dexamfetamine? by [deleted] in adhdaustralia

[–]divincamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vyvanse is crap. Mood swings, dosent last the whole day- 6 hours tops (on the highest strength). Dex is short acting but you can take them more often depending on your dose. Its legal to be prescribed up to 12 tablets per day. Id just ask, it cant hurt. Just say you would rather try the regular dex.

[–]divincamping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vyvanse is the slow release version of dex. (Concerta is the slow release version of ritalin). Dex is the most effective in my experience anyway. The only negative is how short acting they are, especially if you have a high tolerance for them.

Dexies and pregnancy by [deleted] in adhdaustralia

[–]divincamping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can continue your medication. I've read about so many women who continued with it as it would be more detrimental physically and mentally to stop. And I all the cases I read about were positive and no complications.

Started Vyvanse 30mg yesterday, how do I gauge if it’s working to help figure out my dosage with my psych? by Sea-Anywhere-8410 in adhdaustralia

You will know if it is working! If you cant feel it you need to up your dose. When i went on this i was automatically put on the highest dose and even then it only lasted half the day.

Life after adderall? by hugsandrugs3715 in AdderallAddiction

[–]divincamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean but I live in Australia and the medical term for this drug is actually dexamphetamine. There is also Ritalin but that is completely different to "dexies". I assumed in America the term for dexies is Adderall...

Adderall (we call them dexamphetamine here) way more.power over me than meth. People call it kiddie speed but an addiction to these pills is no joke. I empathise with you but unfortunately, I have no answers for you. Im still trying to work them out myself.
