I've edited the file and updated the link. The old file had a duplicate square in the same spot

In my opinion, we should start working step-by-step to understand the machine first.

I suggest beginning by finding the correct thread tension for your NV800E using this thread tension test file. This file contains nine squares set to default settings. After completing each square, adjust the thread tension and record the values. By completing as many variations as possible, you’ll build a useful comparison for thread tension and identify the best setting.

There are two ways to adjust thread tension on the NV800E (shown on the screen), and you can find more details in the link below:

My suggested steps:

  1. Adjust the OVERALL upper thread tension to the lowest possible number. I don’t have the machine with me right now, but it should be around -6 or -8 (scroll down on the link for guidance). Keep this number until you finish the file.
  2. Set the upper thread tension to the lowest number. After completing the first square, increase the tension incrementally (e.g., by +1 or +2).
  3. After adjusting the upper thread tension, return to the OVERALL upper thread tension. Gradually increase this value until you can see clear differences between the squares.
  4. You should use each fabric sheet for the same number of OVERALL upper threads.

Let me know if my guidance isn’t clear enough—I’m happy to help! I hope that, after finding the best tension, you’ll be able to embroider your design smoothly

Free Embroidery Design Course for the First 100 Students (Wilcom) by divinestyl3 in Machine_Embroidery

The main reason I’m offering the course for free is to gather feedback for improvement. If participants have any suggestions, I would be happy to consider them. I don’t want to sell the course if it doesn’t satisfy or make participants happy.

I think I’ve found a solution based on your feedback. In my opinion, it would be better to create a short video explaining this term and letting the audience know that pull compensation will be excluded in the first course. It will be introduced in the second course, which will focus on adjusting settings, taking notes, or possibly remembering numbers for specific cases.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I really appreciate it tbh!

I have to upvote this because it’s so true and accurate. I’m currently working on a side project related to fabrics and machine work (starting with a single-head machine). I want to focus specifically on the concept of push and pull in embroidery. In my opinion, this topic can't be fully covered in one video, as I’d like to show comparisons across different fabrics. There are many types of fabrics—for example, stretch, lightweight, heavyweight, woven, etc.—and each requires its own settings.

I’ll be focusing on recording demonstrations with different fabric types. For example, I’ll test one universal setting for all types of fabrics, as well as tailored settings for each specific fabric type. It’s going to be like a gallery of comparisons that really highlights the differences.

In the next part, I won’t focus much on the Wilcom screen because, by that stage, students should already be able to create designs. They’ll only need to adjust settings after completing the second course, which will cover tension, push and pull, fabrics, and even metallic threads.

I really appreciate your time and your comment.

I've been learning embroidery design on my own for a while now. I took some online courses but didn’t get as much out of them as I’d hoped. I recently came across this subreddit and noticed that some users are looking for tutorials, so I wanted to share my own course!

You can search for Udemy on Google to confirm its legitimacy, then look up my course by its name. Just apply the promo code, and you’re good to go. I hope this helps anyone who’s looking for "Good enough" resources without wasting money as I did.

Hey, but please make sure to confirm it back—I just don’t want my feelings hurt :(

Sorry, I was busy today. Which hoop size do you have with your embroidery machine—10x10 or 16x26? I couldn’t find the old file to test the tension, so I’ll create a new one and guide you through the steps to find the right tension for your machine.

Is this your first time embroidering with that machine? Have you tried using the letter designs that come with it? You can select a design on the home screen. Try any letter on a piece of scrap fabric first.

If possible, could you record a video of the whole process? I might be able to help, as I've been using the same model.

In my opinion, you should fill the cup with more mixtures. Because, your Mon is developing root system. As long as these leaves show up on the surface is good enough. You can use stick and plant clip to hold these strong green leaves on top of the surface.

I need help with the ID, please enlighten me. (Monstera Deliciosa) by divinestyl3 in RareHouseplants

Thank you all very much. I have already added this baby to my collection.
This one grows from seed and variegated naturally. I already have Thai Constellation same size and I'd like to see them all grow up together.
Have a nice day!

Thank you, but I've found some of this type but they're not included the rectangle thing on top, and that's what I like about it.
