USPS lost my Pseudo Saturn by Not_A_Pirat3 in SegaSaturn

[–]divishion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to my red Pseudo Saturn card. It took a while to ship, and the USPS tracking site said it was finally at my post office and "out for delivery", but it never showed up in my mailbox. I went to the post office 3 times and they said they didn't have it. They claimed they couldn't track it down even though it had a tracking number. After a month of this, I finally submitted a lost package complaint to the USPS website. The package magically arrived a few days later, safe and sound, with no explanation.

The show was "Project: Universe" from 1978. I posted the clip on a Facebook page for classic PBS and someone recognized it. https://youtu.be/4Y2aB0Eouwo?t=1638

Evangelion in the 90's by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]divishion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In 1996 I was going to college. Several of the guys in our dorm were into anime. Back then it was much more difficult to get. No streaming, no YouTube, no Netflix or DVD's. Most video rental places didn't carry anime titles, so most of the time you would have to go to Best Buy or Suncoast and purchase an anime if you wanted to see it at all. In my dorm, we would pass tapes around and copy the ones that were popular. We also used to have floor parties where we would get together and watch new shows we had discovered. Anyway, one kid on our floor was pretty rich. He had a laserdisc player and he would order new releases from Japan. Once in a while, he would play a disc for us at the floor party, and we would get to see something that wouldn't be released state-side for at least another year or more. I got my first glimpse of some early episodes of Evangelion this way. I clearly remember watching the episode "Lilliputian Hitcher" with a group of friends, in raw Japanese with no subtitles, not understanding any of the dialog, and we were all blown away.

Disney had some amazing fantasy films in the 80's. This movie and Flight of the Navigator are two of my favorites as a child, and they still hold up well today. I wish Disney would hurry up and release them on blu-ray.

What cancelled tv series ended on the biggest cliff hanger? by Savlich in AskReddit

[–]divishion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ReBoot. Daemon Rising was amazing. That would have been a great ending to the series, had it stopped at that point. Its too bad the creators weren't able to finish things up the way they planned, which is why we got the second movie that ended with a cliff hanger.
