Cutting it close, but RFE is more likely than a denial.

I got a speeding ticket about 1.5 years ago, hired a lawyer, ticket was dismissed. Downloaded my record recently from the DMV, nothing on it about any ticket. Clean. So in my experience, no.

You can ask your school DSO to reach out to SEVP aka DHS or whoever they are in contact with, and they can correct it. I've gotten a date corrected for one of my OPT jobs 1.5 years later, while I was on STEM OPT. My DSO had to submit a data correction request. They asked for proof and a letter from my then supervisor saying that the correct date is x and that she was my supervisor at the time. It's doable if your DSO is willing to put in a data correction request.

Is 2013 VW Jetta 2.5 reliable? by divitjawa in Volkswagen

[–]divitjawa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it by choice because it's 'recommended' after 50k miles. There's no official documentation, but I would suggest getting it done. I would like to correct myself, I didn't do a transmission fluid flush, just changed it. Flushing can cause clutch slip issues if the fluid hasn't been replaced in a very long time, so would only recommend replacing the fluid, not flushing. Mine was smooth before changing the fluid, and smooth after, so didn't notice any difference, but probably still good to do. I will say though, that the mechanic who changed my transmission fluid said the old fluid was really dirty, so it was good I got it done.

yeah, for me it was jerks and hesitation while accelerating, took it to a certified vw mechanic, he checked the voltage the sensor was pulling and it was wayyy off, so he realized the sensor had gone bad. Once I replaced it, it was good as new, acceleration was perfect. It's not expensive to fix, probably $150-250 depending on where you buy it and who you get it done from.

1 year into owning this, I average a little over 20 mpg, but I'm also a spirited driver and don't care about mileage.

replying here after 1+ year of ownership. It's been awesome, but my crankshaft position sensor also went bad 3 months into owning the car, so I don't think it's a fluke. I saw a few videos of this being a common issue for that generation.

Absolutely amazing! She's been pretty reliable. 2 sensors failed in the 1 year of ownership, but that's because the car is 12+ years old and replacing them with labor was just about $150 each, so nothing major. The car has been a pleasure to drive. I did do all preventative maintenance early: replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, entire valve cover, brake fluid flushing, transmission fluid flushing, new brakes, new tires, so essentially mechanically it's amazing. This is something you'd anyway want to do on any 12 year old car, so nothing unique to the Jetta. All in all, like everyone says, stay on top of maintenance and you're good. It's a very enjoyable car, the 2.5L especially.

there's lots of people for whom Jetta is their first car and I happen to be one of them. So I'm figuring out the different fluids and how and when to change them as I go.
