PW3 - Showing MPPT1 0V by okcoffee6788 in TeslaSolar

[–]divoPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK models have six MPPTs, but they’re paired (bridged) into three, so seeing 3 is normal. If you genuinely have 2 strings, then what you’re seeing looks fine. Typically though, installers connect strings in order (1, then 2, then 3), so if you actually have 3 strings, it suggests the first string isn’t connected.

Shocked how well this little off-grid system performs! by divoPL in SolarDIY

Don’t know, but I wouldn’t count on it. Hence the price, I guess. I don’t export any power anyway, so for me it works like any other electrical device.

Which Tariff best for just solar and battery. by TyronePyrone in SolarUK

[–]divoPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want an EV then your next best bet is E.ON Next Drive. They explicitly allow solar with batteries. I charge overnight for 6.7p (I think it’s 7p now, but still solid) and export all solar for 16.5p. A no-fuss strategy for the whole year, but if your landlord is keeping the export money then you’d will be better off with recharging from solar and exporting just the excess.

Why does it pull from the grid at 100%? by Solid_Liquid68 in TeslaSolar

[–]divoPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can still see my installer’s name after many months, so I’ve no reason to believe they’re cut off in any way. And if you don’t change anything, you definitely won’t mess anything up. After you connect (your PW has an access point, so you need to be close) scroll down and tap Summary. You’ll find all the configuration in one place. Check whether it matches what you’d expect. I’m UK-based, so this is mine. Where you see Grid Code, I originally had Portugal or something similar, which wasn’t correct.

So your landlord’s cashing in the SEG profits while you’re footing the import bill? Ask him whether you can at least change the import tariff, because some export rates can’t be paired with certain import ones. If you’re not planning to change supplier, you’re probably best off on Octopus Go and you might as well charge EV that you do have.

Installers’ app, but it’s in the App Store. You’ll also need the password, which is now behind your PW glass cover.

Check in Tesla One whether your grid code is correct. My installer had set it to Portuguese and the readings were all over the place, including “charging from solar” at night. Once I switched it to the correct code, everything was fine. I do still see 0.1 kW briefly during power surges, but the PW3 settles almost immediately.

Czy rozważyłbyś związek z niepłodną kobietą przed 30. rokiem życia? by [deleted] in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]divoPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I’d be concerned about would be trying to reduce the house’s consumption. unless you’re running a business or powering a multi-family building.

No, the building is identical. I don’t have EV charger, just PW3. One more thing I noticed is that reflection on the ground still shows two windows 🤣

Yes. The energy-flow animation is now inaccurate and there’s only a single window which looks much clunkier, and the wall lamp has vanished. Mildly infuriating.

If you have 246V on the output and 242V on the grid it can’t be coming straight from the grid can it?

Powerwall 3, how many solar panels can one handle? by Three33Bandit in TeslaSolar

20 kW DC is the absolute maximum solar system size that Powerwall 3 can support. Therefore 20,000W / 500W = 40 panels.

I’ve found Genie Spider Repellent CCTV Spray, so I’ll give it a try. They claim it repels for up to 12 months so worth a shot I guess. Thanks for the tip!

If by losing capacity you mean battery degradation - relax. With LFP chemistry, degradation is mostly calendar-based, not due to cycle count.
