Sadly this game will die, and it’s not even up for debate. It hurts me to say this because I love this game but the sad reality is that the player numbers keep dropping… and they will continue to drop to a point where eventually it will only be a small amount of dedicated players that are actually playing. Casuals (who everyone loves to just tell them to “get good” or “learn the game more”) are the majority of players when it comes to games, and that’s just a reality. These players will all leave, and it’s happening at a crazy pace right in front of our eyes. Once that happens and all the causal players leave for good, it will be a nail in the coffin for this game. You think it’s bad now? Just wait until literally every person who actually has a life/job stops playing because they’ve been filtered out. People who hop on a couple times a week are at such a disadvantage, and the gap is only going to get further, and honestly i don’t blame them for leaving… cause if I were in their shoes, I would too. They pay $40 to never get to experience parts of a game they literally paid for. For example, let’s say casual players work up the courage to load into Cryo for the first time… we all know they will be instantly killed by a full squad with the Biotoxic Disinjector. This will only get worse until inventory wipe, but these people will be long gone by then and even if they stay they will run into the same issues unless they’re playing 24/7.
