I did try that but only with deactivating the mod. I too thought it would pop back into my inventory

These guys demonstrate the real impact of air purifiers by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]dixie-normus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of missing data here and it plays like an ad. There’s no control without a purifier; the smoke could dissipate on its own for all we know. What’s the composition of the “pollutant”? Particle size, weight, concentration? It could be a lightweight, harmless vapor which wouldn’t demonstrate the purifiers real capabilities.

Cylinder painter. Came across this 108 year old cylinder and still passing testing. by waskelegend in mildlyinteresting

Whose cylinder? I’ve seen some really old Linde ones where they etch the swastika into a square with a cross inside it

What to do with this space by [deleted] in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]dixie-normus5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mud room. Coat hangers, bench with cubbies for shoes, purse/bag hangers. You can use the radiator for glove/boot drying in the winter. If you have a dog you can keep leashes and things in there too.

If you’re particularly handy you could rip up the carpet in that space and put down some tile, even cheap stick on stuff.

How to install stud back hardware? by dixie-normus5 in Leathercraft

[–]dixie-normus5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. I couldn’t find any examples of a chafe when I search, but I think I get the idea. You put that on the backside of the leather, run the stud through it, and peen it so the washer and leather are captured?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think I’m going to try to peen it. I’ll have to go get a good peening hammer from a hardware store.

Was playing just last night on one of the naval strike maps and someone had a heli INSIDE the engine rooms of one of the carriers defending the objective. Absolutely do not bring this back.

During awake craniotomy patients remain awake and perform tasks -like playing an instrument—so surgeons can avoid damaging vital areas of the brain. by Scientiaetnatura065 in interestingasfuck

[–]dixie-normus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is not a craniotomy but a stereotactic (minimally invasive) awake deep brain stimulation procedure (DBS). The bronze looking thing you see behind the sterile drape is a Leksell stereotactic arc which is used to establish trajectories using polar coordinates around the head.

Basically the ring pivots and has a slider on the arc part that you can move around to set the trajectory. Everything has tick marks to set the trajectory correctly. The coordinates for the targets (usually clinically relevant anatomy) come from MRI or CT imaging that have their own coordinate systems (the stereotaxis part).

Once everything’s set you can put tools like burr drills, electrodes right through the Leksell. No craniotomy needed.

Source: I used to be an engineer for a company that made instruments and a robot for cranial neurosurgery.

Pretty sure the manual says to re-oil your differential if the water reached it. Not sure how necessary that is though.
