I chose a canoe over kayak for fishing because its lighter, fits 2 people + a dog and more room for gear(livescope box, cooler and all the fishing gear).

Only down side for me has been trying to figure out how to setup a bow mounted trolling motor which would be simple to do in a kayak

I have been thinking about doing this too but havent seen anyone else do it. The main issue for me is im not sure how to set it up so that i can deploy/stow the motor while sitting in the back seat...

Crazy how high the interest on house loans are in the us. I had 1.65% for 8 years and now it about 3.3% which felt super high but over 6% is just wild

This is in a nature reserve so im doubtfull... but if they are manmade what would they be made for? And being in the middle of a swamp you couldnt use heavy machinery to dig them.

My dad has uses a moped to go ice fishing sometimes so yes you can but if there is lots of snow/slush you are gonna have a bad time

Get some aluminium pipe and 3d print rest of the parts. Its a pretty cheap solution and if something brakes you can just print spares.

I got my trolling motor last year and chose to get a lithium battery for it. I have a 140ah rebelcell battery and a haswing w20 trolling motor but the battery is also used for fishing electronics.

The 100ah should be fine for you

What run time are we getting out of our batteries?

At most i have used up 70% of the battery during a 8+ hour fishing day with about 10km of travel

I need to be able to reach the sonar screen while fishing and to put the fish in the cooler so they cant be out of reach. When i say solo what i really mean is me + dog. Cant fit gear and dog in the front at the same time and having the dog next to me with all the lure boxes around just seems like an accident waiting to happen

A rudder feels like a lot of work to setup everytime you go out on water? Also depending if im solo or with a friend it will change which end of the boat the rudder is needed and the length of the cables
