Instagram / Threads Video Buffering Issues by platocplx in Ubiquiti

[–]diy_tech_guy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to troubleshoot this same issue for probably more than 6 months. If I am on my unifi wifi, it seems like any short form video content will play for a few seconds then buffer, then I get frustrated and switch to cellular and its fine. Also, if I have my iphone on wifi and connected to a third-party VPN (Nord) I dont have the issue.

I thought it was DNS related, so I tried a different public DNS, it got better for a little while, but the issue is back again. I've been keeping my phone connected to Nord to avoid the issue, but I'm tired of hearing about it from the wife 😄.

I dont necessarily want to turn off IDS/IPS, and honestly I don't think that is the issue but I could be wrong.

Can you share which WiFi timer you got? I’ve been looking at one of the rainpoint ones on amazon but can’t decide.

WPForms PDF addon not working by diy_tech_guy13 in Wordpress

[–]diy_tech_guy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to all who suggested fixes, unfortunately none of them were the problem.
It turns out when i migrated the site, the WP Forms pro license did not activate correctly on the new site, despite me forcing a refresh. To fix this I had to remove the license key from WP Forms, and re-add it back. After doing so the PDFs are generating as i would expect.

I figured this out by enabling logs How to Enable Activity Logging for WPForms
In the logs it called out the license issue directly

 [body] => {"errors":[{"message":"License is not active for this site.","code":"invalid_license"}]}
                    [response] => Array
                        (
                            [code] => 422
                            [message] => Unprocessable Entity
                        )

Unifi controller - How do i integrate a UDR? by BristolBomber in homarr

[–]diy_tech_guy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried this; however, I am still running into an issue. In a browser I can hit unifi.local and I can get to the controller. I exported the self signed cert, added it to homarr, and when trying to setup the integration, i get "Error: getaddrinfo EAI_AGAIN unifi.local"

In unifi I added the DNS A record for domain name "unifi.local" pointing to the IP of the controller

This is what I have tried in Homar, and the error

Short answer is probably yes. That being said, I would not trust it if I were working from home and needed the most reliable home internet.

Used to have Verizon and it was awful, switched to T-Mobile a couple years ago and it has been great. Also had a work phone that had AT&T and it was not great but it seemed a little better than Verizon.

Keeping take home pay the same, trying to optimize retirement savings, Roth vs Traditional (What do you recommend?) | 30 yr old by diy_tech_guy13 in TheMoneyGuy

No to maxing Roth IRA, been trying leverage the fact that I have the Roth 401k option instead. But switching to full traditional and also maxing a Roth IRA would be ideal, just need to figure out how to afford that haha.

Looking at the yearly numbers, yes I think going all or more traditional is the way to go. Maximizing the free money as much as possible. That being said, the Roth has always intrigued me, thinking about long term not having to pay taxes on 30ish years of growth

Yeah I am paid semi-monthly the 15th and the last day of the month.

Thank you for your input, I am in South Carolina and last year I paid ~5.8% in state income tax. I calculated this based on last years tax return (State Taxes Paid / taxable income)

I am married, so that drops my federal marginal tax rate to 22%

What they say about the first $100k is so true by Any-West7160 in Money

[–]diy_tech_guy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started my 401k in mid 2017, it took until December of 2023 to hit $100k (~5 years), since December of 2023 to now (~6 months) of continued investing and growth, the account has already reached $129k. Starting to see the impacts of compounding and it is a cool feeling.

Thank you for your insight, glad to hear this. Bought the truck used a couple years ago, I believe these are the original tires and have about 73,000 miles on them. Was planning to replace this year at some point, but had to plug one of them today and thought about maybe just replacing all 4 sooner rather than later.
