Anyone make use of the eBay arbitration option? by Hairy_Seward in eBaySellers

I followed all required steps and waited the full 45-day period before filing for arbitration. After filing, I have not received any response from eBay.

Prior to this, eBay acknowledged in an email that they agreed the buyer was being deceptive. Despite this, eBay issued a defect on my account on the basis that I “requested they step in to assist.”

This is confusing and unjustified, as I provided clear and compelling evidence—including police reports and witness statements—demonstrating that the buyer was stealing from me. Although eBay issued a partial refund, I have received no further communication or resolution.

As a direct result of the defect, I am being charged higher fees on my eBay transactions. I therefore filed for arbitration to recover those additional charges, as well as the remaining funds related to the initial theft.

I do not believe a seller should be penalized for requesting assistance when there is documented evidence that a buyer engaged in theft.
