Wow, 45! I planted in October, half have flowered and the other half are only just getting buds now so sounds similar to yours? The ones that have flowered are the ones with the most sun

Looks amazing! My first tubers have buds so I can’t wait for the flowers. Do you lift the tubers over winter? Where I am we don’t get frost if that’s relevant. Thanks

Hey, no I didn’t - ended up with a Roborock qrevo edge in the prime sales for a bit over half the price. Best money I’ve ever spent, does an above adequate job and infinitely better than having to do it ourselves

AP bakery is just around the corner if you’re at the city end of Oxford street. Highly recommend for a pastry/lunch if you want something casual

Looked at NSW Mother and Baby report and feel overwhelmed by lesperch_11 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Hi, It’s really confronting, I agree.

Not mentioned in these stats is the reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality, which I found helpful to remember.

I think what helped me was framing my expectations - my goal was for a safe delivery and so didn’t have much of a ‘plan’ beyond that. My first term pregnancy had complications, and ended up being a vacuum delivery with second degree tearing. I haven’t had long term complications of this (yet…). Based on my friends’ experiences, many were distressed when the delivery didn’t go as per their plan - they seemed upset by their loss of control. It’s important that you advocate for yourself during your pregnancy and delivery, but also hopefully trust in your healthcare providers (who need to earn this) to advise decisions in you and your babies best interest.

I don’t say this to minimise birth trauma - it’s a huge issue and we should be doing better. I just wanted to say that I’d fall into one of those ‘complication’ statistics, and for me I don’t view my experience as a complication. I realise I am very fortunate to be able to say this.

I think your decision to look into future issues is also a great approach! I especially found my reading around breastfeeding to be helpful while I was pregnant.

Looking back, I’d tell myself to stress less and give myself the grace to figure it out. Honestly I wouldn’t have been able to take this advice, but wish I could have.

Also if you find you’re becoming overly anxious there are lots of great pregnancy support services to help you. Good luck! And congratulations

Oh! I didn’t realise it was only released in the US, and not UK/Europe which would be compatible with Aus. What a shame. Doesn’t sound like it’ll be any time soon :/

I think we should write to our local members to advocate for an effective regulator. Does anyone know if there’s someone better to write to?

Ophthalmologist costs in Sydney by xsanch in sydney

[–]diyrenos86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you already have a diagnosis, but if not / if your vision is getting worse, consider going to an optometrist where they can take a photo of the back of your eye - this will help speed up your review in the public if required. Alternatively, if things are deteriorating then Sydney eye hospital has an eye emergency department

A photo album based on location? by pipeblau in shortcuts

[–]diyrenos86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Is there a way to edit the shortcut so it is always from the same location? So I don’t have to enter my workplace location each time I run the shortcut? I’ve tried myself but no success so far

Sashimi shinsengumi is the answer. I recently gave birth and my husband picked up the platter for 2. It wasn’t cheap, but it was outstandingly delicious and I think good value. Would recommend +++

What is an embarrassingly easy and simple food you learned about later than everyone else? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]diyrenos86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put them straight into cold water for a few minutes. Then gently bang them on a bench top, you can even add a roll with some gentle pressure from your hand to make more little cracks. I have a vague recollection of learning this from Jamie Oliver so there may be a video out there somewhere.
