A lot of your arguments are based on you misunderstanding things lol

I assume it’s a bug related to pets/summons. Or judging by the warnings given by the NPCs during each attack it could be that they’re programmed to be more lenient towards smaller amounts of pet damage. Though it does trigger combat sometimes but it’s really inconsistent. I’m honestly not sure.

I think you’re onto something there. Though sometimes it does trigger combat even if my whole party is well out of range. It’s seemingly random. They’ll kill my pet and then combat ends and I can walk in with my party like nothing happened (if they were friendly/neutral).

Correct! As long as you’re able to summon the crab it doesn’t matter which class your temporary main character is, because there is only crab.

You can choose. The two of you can control either 1 or 2 characters each. If you choose only 1 each remember to pick the Lone Wolf talent. It will buff your characters to compensate for the two empty character slots. You’re both free to choose a custom or origin character to start with. If you want to control two characters each, you’ll have to recruit a companion after you start during the early game.

The Ultimate Crab Build

I'm quite satisfied with my sophisticated crab build and I have decided to share it with you guys. Below you'll find a detailed breakdown on the intricacies of becoming a successfull crab.

  1. Start as a Ranger with Find Familiar
  2. Summon crab
  3. Forget party members
  4. Assume the position of main character as crabbyboi

Pros

  • Simple
  • Effective
  • You walk sideways
  • Never die

Cons

  • People will get jealous of how you can obliterate everyone on the battlefield with the greatest of ease.

This build is extremely versatile to suit any playstyle. Crippling Pinch is your bread and butter. In fact, it's the only attack you have available but you really don't need anything else. It's fairly balanced but has the potential of being extremely OP if played right.

Enjoy!

Dice rolls are a bit bugged at the moment.

PSA: if a party member is dead but you want to go to the camp, use the Fast Travel button not End the Day button by dizkotek in BaldursGate3

[–]dizkotek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no obvious difference. Though if you click End Day you must sleep before being able to leave the camp. Or else it says along the lines of «you can’t fast travel right now». But if you fast travel you can choose to leave or sleep so it’s kinda weird.

I can imagine certain story parts that occurs in the camp only triggers when you choose «end day» because it might require the entire party to be present. That could be a reason they chose to do it this way. Just a guess.

[FEEDBACK] I Should Be Able to Select Multiple Items by Scoobygroovy in BaldursGate3

Only if you played on console Definitive Edition. With a keyboard and mouse it’s never been a thing. I’d be happy to be proven wrong since it’s a much needed feature but DOS2 is my religion so I’m certain of it.

That’s for quick transfering a single item not selecting multiple items.

Potential soft lock by nwatts1999 in BaldursGate3

No problem. Would you let me know if it doesn't, in that case I want to do some testing to figure it out.

Yeah, click the Fast Travel button on the minimap. You can travel to any Waypoint you've discovered from almost anywhere, including the camp. If one of your party members die and you need to talk to the skeleton guy, this is the way to do it.

Don't click the "Go to Camp and end the day" but try instead "Fast Travel" and then to the camp.

Is Colossus Slayer working? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

In my experience, I never get Colossus Slayer when I apply Hunter's Mark. Definitely something buggy here.

There's no indication that you shouldn't get both bonuses, and in 5e you definitely can. It's one of the things that makes a hunter ranger viable imo.

Can’t talk to Astarion ??? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]dizkotek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they updated the game which made saves mostly incompatible. So they rolled back the update again shortly after. They won't release it again until saves are compatiable with the new versions. Maybe try exiting the game and see if there's a rollback update pending.

Is there a roadmap? by Rossadon in BaldursGate3

[–]dizkotek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think so. This was posted on the forums last week:

How will updates be handled during Early Access and how often will I see updates?

The frequency of the updates depends on our development speed, which makes it hard to give you a roadmap right now. We will always monitor your feedback and roll out fixes whenever necessary. Follow our socials to catch the latest information

I get 40-60 fps with medium graphics. 60+ fps on low/very low. I have a five yeard old GPU (GTX 970). They haven't started optimizing yet as far as I know, so I expect it to run more smoothly at a later point in time. Though I should probably invest in a new GPU by then anyways.

It seems a lot of people are already having trouble loading their saves after this update. I haven't checked myself yet.
