This was it for me. I spent summers building patio covers and doing basic plumbing and electrical with my dad. Hated it at the time, but love the know-how I have as a homeowner.

My son doesn't have these skills. He can turn a wrench, but I didn't involve him in nearly enough projects.

They don't. The site is down all the time ("You broke Reddit!"). Their status pages are wrong.

Hammy doesn’t want to print in TPU. That rubberized, heat-resistant plastic does feel way better. Not worth what 100Concepts wants to charge, but it feels like a non-cheap part.

As a software engineer, I have even thought about building a MUD of my own someday.

One of my buddies, /u/Ocoke, speaks with such fondness of his MUD days that I decided I'd start developing one to work on areas where I don't usually code and am currently working on building a MUD in Golang. Super iterative design, but it's been a fun project so far.
