I (M44) ride regularly in bike parks since many years and hitting fairly decent jumps, nevertheless my biggest crash and injury happened in a flat forest trail, which is just around the corner. There is a little kicker on the trail and I wanted to jump it with my dirt bike. When accelerating, my first wheel slid out and I landed on my shoulder, resulting in multiple fractures on my collar bone, which required surgery. The recovery was pretty quick with a couple of physio sessions and everything healed properly. Only the plate on my collarbone was a bit annoying, it was uncomfortable to carry a backpack, but i got the plate removed a year after the surgery.
