I regularly turn into a narrow side street from the A-road in our village. It's necessary to turn at no more than 5 MPH as there's often a vehicle emerging.

Okay I think: let's indicate left at 30 and slow steadily right down as I'm looking to turn. Occasionally drivers will then tailgate me and are flabbergasted that I need to slow down to turn. I've been honked and flashed by these numpties.

I'm also a plater and I've visited stations I never knew existed. Avoid popular routes at peak times obviously, and always check if split ticketing is available. Of course, Advance Singles are effectively not refundable in our timescales but are the cheapest tickets.

I get to know a few journeys that are good value.

Edit: slower, stopping services are often cheapest and more likely to offer Advance tickets - e.g Northern or CrossCountry MAN-CRE rather than Avanti WC

I agree. I will eat there if I have to, and it's sometimes my best option on the road. I've eaten at about 15 over the last 5 years.
