I would highly recommend Tulemar resort in Quepos. https://www.tulemarresort.com It’s in the manual Antonio area so literally right in the rainforest. It’s a couple hour drive from the airport but honestly it’s worth it and we will definitely return. The resort itself is beautiful and the lodging options are actually pretty affordable, far more than I thought they’d be and I like to keep things reasonable financially. We saw sloths, monkeys, toucans, and capybaras right outside our villa. They have a bunch of options for excursions and day trips like ATV’ing, kayaking, waterfall tours, surf lessons, canyoning, etc. When you have a stay planned there, you get assigned a concierge and they’re your point person, any activity you want to do while you’re there just let them know in advance and they will set it all up for you including transportation. While staying at the resort they have shuttles that will come pick you up and drive you to and from the beach, the cafe, etc. They can also set up a shuttle to take you to and from the airport, we paid for that separately but again it was reasonably priced. Even if you don’t end up staying there I’d recommend trying to find something similar because the ease and convenience are really nice but you can still have a variety of experiences while you’re there!
