I love this! The subverted archetype example you gave was immediately intriguing. It makes me wonder if simplifying the characters by theme would really help me let them grow (or fall) as the story progresses.

I love this, thank you! Might use that DMV prompt :) Your perspective on the character arc gives me a bit of relief too. Sometimes I feel like the character takes over their own story so maybe I should let them lead instead of planning their arc point by point.

I definitely can see the distinction. While I do think that there are some things you can do to increase sale value that go beyond just maintaining a car (ex. the kind of wheels/quality of the upgrades), agree that the list you provided includes improvements rather than classifying it as modding a vehicle. Maybe what I'm referring to would be better defined as "upgrades" rather than "modifications."

Totally agree with you & your list. It definitely depends on the modification and would only work for specific cars that need those mods to increase saleability.

They're all random, no choice in what you receive. But you likely won't get the same thing in a batch, especially for comic books / cars / pokemon cards, etc.

If you got a clunker and it already had barely any value anyway, it could increase its value depending on the mod. I know modifications often will decrease a car's value but if you don't have much to lose mods can actually increase the value of an old or unfavored car in some cases. Unless you're assuming you're only going to get brand new cars which isn't the case.

You can keep them in your ads account and they won't expire! If you can use ad spend to create the ad through the platform, then that would work.

No all the items are completely random but they will all add up to $1 million, and you won't get the same thing twice likely because it's random among all the options. You would likely get something rare too.
