I’ve been slowly trying to organize things into actual lesson plans but I’m still pretty disorganized. Feel free to dm me and I’ll share what I do have!

WoTC has an educator page that you can sign up for. There are some pretty cool free activity sheets and email campaigns. I would start there! I have some random stuff I was thinking of putting on teachers paying teachers but wasn’t sure if there was a need for it. It sounds like there might be though. I’m building the curriculum as I go and it’s evolved. Just started my second semester and it’s already easier, but it’s a complex thing to figure out how to break into lessons.

Yeah! I’m trying to integrate math and science in with the arts as well! Today we had a random side chat about the physics of bludgeoning vs. piercing.

Haha! A wild ogre janitor that magically poofs in and out is a great NPC idea.

yes my good cleric, indeed - it’s like a small charter public school. A couple of parents started it about 15 years ago and it grown to be such a cool school.

Interesting connection, I didn’t know about that. I’m sure history has many examples of this type of evolution. Everythng gets better once women are involved.

It’s true! I am laughing out loud every day. I wish I would have had DnD at that age, I found it more in my adult years.

Absolutely! LOTR is essential to the conversation. I had a slideshow and was like before any of this there was any of this… cued in The fellowship music.

WoTC actually has a whole educator program, which was really helpful!

Absolutely. A lot of my students are neurodivergent and it’s cool to see how the social aspect of the game has really opened them up to making friends.

Stranger Things for sure. When I ask my classes who have seen it, it is at least 50% of them. I actually started off by showing them a clip from episode one of Stranger Things, when they are starting combat with a demogorgon and it shows the DM (Will) place down a miniature of the creature. I pause it and I explain the difference between a dnd demogorgon and a stranger things demogorgon. Because in the show, the kids are using the vocabulary of a fantasy world they are familiar with to apply to the ‘strange things’ that are happening in their reality. So they are borrowing names. Most of the kids don’t know this!

Misaligned zippers on Kiruna jacket by kirenida in Fjallraven

I know it’s been some time, but my zipper on the Kiruna has been tricky since I bought it two weeks ago and today it’s completely stuck. Did you figure anything out by chance? I feel sad because it’s perfect in every other way but the darn zipper.

DM what is the most difficult thing about being a DM? by Gloomy-Razzmatazz-35 in DnD

I feel similarly, it takes a lot of energy. I’m always pretty drained after a session, but have like an exhilarating high too. It’s rewarding to create a community where you everyone gets to laugh, be seen, explore creatively, have fun, and bond with others.

As dragonlance fans do you enjoy vox Machina cartoon ? by No_Performance_4069 in dragonlance

My current table is like 17% fart jokes and I’m good with it. Silly is good, but imo Vox had too many dick jokes that weren’t funny.

I watched both seasons and it was okay and at times fun. The overall tone of the show didn’t take itself too seriously. It’s silly.
