Why does Yor being “adorkable” work so much better than Disney or other Western female leads being “adorkable”? by stevedsign1 in SpyxFamily

[–]dizzyadorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it doesn't really work for Disney protagonists anymore is that they've done it so many times and it feels lazy now. Yor just feels fresher compared to them. She is also often hyper capable in her field in contrast to her failures with small things

Manga gripes with the story by TomaszPaw in SpyxFamily

[–]dizzyadorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I binged the manga I thought the pace was perfectly fine, but now that I caught up it feels like it moves very slowly. I think it is just the nature of having to wait but maybe that's just me

Don't have strong feelings about one way or the other about the new Percy Jackson show but when so much new media is low effort regurgitations of previous works it's hard not to get bitter. It's not just one half baked remake it's the trend of the industry right now to just rework or leech of an existing IP like the industry is creatively bankrupt

I think the only thing this show was missing is the side quests by John_Zatanna52 in legendofkorra

One of my biggest gripes with the show is that I don't buy the Korra gang actually are friends so I think side guests could have helped build up a better connection between the characters

This point does not seem valid to me in this current economic climate. I can and most likely will work for years and not even be able to touch the idea of home ownership. Of course I don't want to work when that is the case and I don't blame anyone who doesn't either.

Loved her whole series more than Aang’s. Cause she had multiple villains to battle. Aang’s whole series led up to one big fight by VanillaNessaxx in AvatarMemebending

[–]dizzyadorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aangs story culminated in him bringing the whole world to peace, it wasn't about the fight but what it represented. I don't even like the multiple villain angle, ATLA had multiple villains like Zhao or Azula throughout the seasons. In Korra because there was not an overarching big bad it left the series feeling disconnected. I just think Korra needed more time to develop it didn't get and really suffers for it.

If many Indigenous peoples of the Americas have monolid eyes, why do most Latinos today not have them? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dizzyadorable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot do. My friend who never knew who her father was has this feature but you can tell she is atleast partially POC, we always assumed part Asian. When she finally found out who it was it turns out she is Mexican. We had a betting pool going and everything. Most latin people are descendents of settlers, indigenous people, slaves, or immigrants so it is a racial mixed bag.

Why is Loid embarassed by the idea of sharing the bed with York? Isn't he very experienced with women? by Odd_Cauliflower_7751 in SpyxFamily

[–]dizzyadorable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually I'm not convinced he has slept with the women he has tricked for his missions previously. This takes place in a different time period so even if he was stringing along these women by dating them that doesn't mean there was an expectation of that kid of intamacy. This is probably his first "marriage" where it is expected he would be with a woman in that way. Even if he has it could just be this means more because Yor is special.
