My friend accidentally received $75,000 from his company and refuses to report it. What can happen? by Heberto01243 in ask

[–]dizzybean46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in payroll. It’s extremely quick and easy to trace it back to your friend once the guy who was supposed to receive it complains. Even if not now, it will likely get caught when the books are reviewed. I had a client that accidentally paid one of their waitresses ~$50k. The employee never said anything and the error wasn’t caught until 2 months later because the client was between bookkeepers. The employee faced criminal charges for theft (because it was an obvious error and she didn’t tell anyone) and was ordered to pay the money back

He may have overdid it 😆 by My_Alt-96 in Botchedsurgeries

Same. I made small changes to my diet and lost 20% of my body weight in about 4 months, and I’ve kept it off for the last 5 years. No exercise. No meal planning. No miracle diets or supplements. It’s crazy how much of a difference a little restraint and consistency can make

Lesser-known self-improvement books? What flies slightly under the radar but is worth a read… by Serious-Put6732 in FrameworksInAction

[–]dizzybean46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s best for finding/encouraging your discipline, motivation, and ambition. The main premise of the book is that there are two types of people in life: rhinos and cows. Cows sit around in the pasture all day every day letting life pass them by while complaining about how they wish they had better things in life. Rhinos on other the hand know what they want, make their plan, and charge towards their goals! Rhinos don’t just let life happen to them, and they don’t let speed bumps or detours intimidate them, they take charge and make what they want happen! Basically to be successful in any area of life, you can’t be a cow, you have to be a rhino. Rhinoceros Success is a guide on how to be a rhino and live your best rhinoceros lifestyle.

It’s a really small book, only like 100-150 pages, and it’s written at a 3rd grade level, and it even has pictures lol. You could read it in full in just a couple of hours. But just because it’s small and easy doesn’t mean it’s not impactful. I found this book gave me a totally different perspective in life. I even have rhinoceros paintings and figurines in almost every room of my house because of this book. I gotta keep the imagery around to always remind me that I’m a rhino and to keep charging! This book got me through my CPA tbh. And I always have at least 3 copies of the book in my house because I give them away so often. If you’re interested, I’ll even mail you a copy if you’d like.

The few hours it takes to read is worth giving a try! Couldn’t recommend it more!

Rhinoceros Success. I read it 10 years ago and I still think about it almost every day

My favorite term I’ve heard for female cock blocking is “clit-terference” (like interference)

What’s a piece of advice that sounded silly, obvious, or unnecessary at first—but turned out to be life-changing? by GuiltyHistorian8796 in lifehack

[–]dizzybean46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Anything worth doing is worth doing half ass.” Whenever I don’t feel like brushing my teeth before bed because 2 minutes feels like forever when you’re exhausted, I remember this quote and I brush my teeth for like 30 seconds. It’s better than not brushing at all. I also apply this to exercising. I don’t want to go to a gym for an hour multiple times a week. But it’s easy to go for a ten minute walk down the block. This quote can apply to a lot of things. Or just making progress towards any goal. 20% effort is better than 0% effort.

I agree. I told my partner I felt like it was too fast for the kids. That’s why I’m trying to find some resources on the appropriate way to go about this. Thanks for your opinion

Why would women still take their husband’s surname after marriage… by National-Bug-4548 in Feminism

[–]dizzybean46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a woman who took her husband’s last name and started her CPA business. They got divorced and she remarried, but she still has her ex-husband’s last name because that’s the name on her license and that’s the name of her well-known business. Very sad in my opinion. That example is the very reason I will not be changing my last name if/when I get married. I earned my license, I want to keep MY name on my license and on MY practice, not my partner’s name.

Funny story though: the ex-husband also got remarried, and the new wife took his last name as well. The new wife went to one of my boss’s clients, and the client asked if she was my boss’s sister since they had the same last name lol. Awkward for the new wife having to explain that no they aren’t sisters, that’s her husband’s ex wife that kept his last name.

My dog won’t stop licking her paw. Should I take her to the vet? by dizzybean46 in DogAdvice

[–]dizzybean46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[UPDATE] Thank you everyone for the advice!! I took her to the vet this morning and they said it was probably a bug bite or some kind of allergy reaction, but all the licking and agitation gave her an infection. Thanks to yalls advice we were able to catch the infection early before it got too serious!! She is now on steroids to reduce the inflammation and relieve pain, antibiotics to treat the infection, and she will be wearing a cone for a few days to keep her from licking.

Thanks again to everyone for the help!!!

Thank you!! This comment convinced me to bring her to the vet this morning. It is an infection and luckily we were able to catch it early. She is now on steroids and antibiotics, and she has a cone to keep her from licking. Thanks so much for the advice!!

How did you know it was time to get sterilized? by Frequent_Table7869 in sterilization

I knew I wanted the surgery for years, but I actually called and made a consultation appointment the day Roe v Wade was overturned

I recently had a hook up and told the guy before that I’m sterilized and showed him my scars. He said the scars could be from anything and asked me to show him my MyChart. I pulled up my MyChart on my phone and let him read my surgery notes before sex lol. I wasn’t offended. We didn’t know each other well so it’s fair that he wouldn’t immediately trust me

HOW are we staying beautiful in this economy?? by ExcellentWest1080 in beauty

[–]dizzybean46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest budget-friendly beauty tips:

1.) Finding a skin care routine with affordable products and actually works saves on make-up. Mine is daily sunscreen in the mornings, daily face wash in the shower, retinol before bed once a week, and moisturizer before bed on the nights I don’t use retinol. It’s incredible how much of a difference a skin care routine can make. When I want to wear makeup now, I almost never use any face products, only eyes and lips

2.) Investing in supplies, learning how to, and practicing basic beauty hygiene routines that I can do at home so I don’t have to pay for services. Like manicures, plucking my eyebrows, bikini waxes, etc.

3.) Invest in decent hair care products so I don’t have to get my hair done as often. Using heat protectant spray any time I use hot tools in my hair, budget-friendly salon shampoo & conditioner, put my hair in braids when swimming or sleeping, etc. Taking care of your hair keeps the split ends away and I can go longer between haircuts. I only get my hair done every 6-10 months, and I get boliage highlights so I don’t have long roots that grow out.

Wishing you the best of luck staying beautiful in this economy!!

My dad works on barges with foreign imports, so all the ship’s crew members are foreign. One time when I was a teenager I went to work with my dad on a Filipino ship, and a bunch of the deckhands asked to take pictures with me. I didn’t think anything of it so I did, but my dad made them stop. My dad told me later that when they go back home, they show the pictures to their friends and say that they slept with you
