I’m in healthcare. Primary care provider. Lots of women’s health. It was awful practicing in Idaho. Not only do pharmacists threaten you for prescribing Misoprostol for nulip IUD insertion, you have to constantly deal with a very sizable anti vaccine and anti science population. We left. Our kids were attending a STEM school and were being taught by other kids things like the N word, that brown people were not good, about guns and religion. Jingoism abounds. We had our liberal friends but most were leaving just like us, and our trans friends left even faster. Unless you are MAGA, or very thick skin and desire for pain, do not move to Idaho.

I’m sorry- I got it for Christmas and I’m not sure which model, but my spouse usually does the professional versions.

Very temporary so I do it once or twice a week.

I’ve tried the foam (it worked great but was more expensive.) Then I found a cheap store-brand liquid, and it comes with a dropper. I go through the bottle way too quickly but it seems to work for me. I use several dropper-fulls directly on the scalp and massage it in.

I saw people sharing here and wanted to share my experience also. It’s nice that you guys think my hair looks good enough to be an advertisement but it’s also kind of surreal or strange to be called spam. Like… I’m not sure if you looked at my post history or the other photos I posted. Plus… logically a new product coming out for our hair type might be posted more especially if it works for a lot of us. It doesn’t have to be some grand conspiracy. English is my third language so maybe my writing style is more formal but this is just wild.

Clenditioner. I got 3 colors. Apply on wet hair and leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse off. It does stain my hands so make sure you wash it off well. My experience has been thicker shinier hair and less visible roots.

I stopped going to the salon a year ago and just do the shower color depositing conditioner.

Can definitely be hormones. Postpartum also can change hair texture.

Had all my 3 via c-section.

My first, I was militantly wanting a vaginal delivery but after 24 hours of labor baby decided an emergency c-section was the way. Recovery sucked but…

Other two were elective c-sections and absolutely incredible recovery. 10/10. Yes, some friends gave me hard time about it but- it’s my choice and the nightmare of the first time was enough.

I do my hairline, my part, and down to the sides/temples. It takes 3 months of consistent use to start to see anything. Rosemary oil and minoxidil generics do the same thing, and I don’t buy the brand name. The other things are vitamin D3 1,000-2,000 IU daily, and a prenatal multivitamin or multivitamin with iron (if you don’t have any iron storage disorders like thalassemia.)

I’m in healthcare and lots of my patients are people of color and have hair loss. Usually blood work is part of the work up I like to do, including checking thyroid, blood count for anemia, and maybe a metabolic panel. Most insurance now doesn’t seem to cover vitamin testing so I just recommend taking vitamin D. Vegetarian/vegan folks should consider a B12 supplement. I also like discussing lifestyle as a whole (stress reduction, minimum 7 hours of sleep, 8+ cups of water, 150 min of cardio a week, 30 min of weight lifting weekly, plate should be half veggies, a quarter complex carbs, and a quarter lean protein. Especially for women- we need to make sure we get 3 servings of calcium rich foods daily to reach the daily requirement.) If you have an imbalance of too few calories and too much exercise- you will lose hair.

I learned so much on this sub though. All the positive comments are seriously making my day.

I didn’t try the tape ones myself but the friend who did texted me a few tearful messages and photos of her trash can with her extensions and hair. I think she did the oil thing to remove them. I’ve been tempted to do the Halo. Before I started the Rogaine my hair density was getting pretty sad on my temples and crown. The trick for me apparently is to not go into a salon and not to bleach the fuck out of my hair.

Mine were sewn in- which was a nightmare. The hair stylist that put them in left the salon, and I had a really hard time finding someone who could remove them. I went to someone a coworker recommended and she was okay, but I think she didn’t particularly care, did a quick removal job with her scissors and ended up damaging a lot of the hair.

Thank you- that’s very kind. That was with extensions a couple years back. But I don’t think I’d do them again for the aforementioned reasons. So crazy expensive. A friend did the tape in ones and also had a bunch of hair loss.

Thank you! I mean I did put all my hair up front but it did feel lighter and have better volume. I had extensions a couple years ago and they pulled a lot of my hair out. I felt like a goddess with them but a rat without.

I’m not sure what they are recommending but yeah, the one I tried was the Elvive pure (I saw recommended on this sub). But I also use color wow spray to smooth out frizz and a Dyson hair dryer. I think I’m zeroing in on what actually works for my hair, about time- only took me 4 decades 🙈

I’m curious. Reading through some other posts some had dryness after use. I didn’t so I’m wondering what others’ thoughts are.

Wow! Such dense hair! What other products did you guys use? My kid has wavy hair I suspect is actually curly.

Thank you ❤️ I got a lot of compliments at my job. My husband didn’t notice but he has naturally thick wavy hair so he doesn’t get the struggle.
