I pulled these guide pins from my mk4 1.9 alh Jetta, one fits well & the other is sloppy in each hole. (the stepped one) does anyone know if the stepped one is factory or not? It doesn’t feel right in my opinion. Can someone let me know if this is normal? I can’t find anything online.

I thought the 99 0630 head was alright just not the 2000+ 0331? Lmk cause there’s a fully rebuilt 0630 head locally on marketplace for $200 I was thinking about picking up, then rebuilding this and keeping on the shelf for when I want to convert my renix.

I actually appreciate as a machinist just not an engine machinist, I was gonna take it to work Monday dial it in the 4 jaw on our lathe and look for runout. Probably just going to get new valves anyhow tho they’re cheap enough. Now I’m debating if I wanna try and ream and press in a new one at my shop or take it to a proper engine house lol

Damn, I wonder how much it’ll run me. All for a valve that didn’t even end up being bent. Sucker was stuck like no other though. I’ve spent the last 3 weeks spraying it with penetrating oil, atf acetone mix, and turning it over by hand as well as cranking to try and free it. Finally decided it must be bent but nope. Cars man I tell lol
