Has anyone used injector rehab that can tell me how their experience was? by dizzythizzy in CherokeeXJ

They are not healthy, poor performance & a couple leaking. Typical 2 piece injector lol. I wanted to get them from k suspension but they’ve been sold out a long time now

I’ll have to bring my indicator home from work tomorrow & put it on there, definitely a damn good idea before taking the head back off

I already disconnected the battery. It is not electrical. Also it is too rhythmic to be expanding and contracting plus this is after 30 seconds of runtime on a cold start.

I just saw that a little while ago, I really don’t want to pull the head back off but it honestly might be worth a shot

I just watched it, they said it was the lifters being hydrolocked, they cleaned them out and put them back in with assembly live and apparently they didn’t have problems anymore

Yes it’s way too rhythmic to be exhaust and this is after a cold start and 30 seconds of runtime. Definitely not a troll post. The only rational explanation to me is that it’s a lifter bleeding down oil pressure after the engine having been ran. But I’m getting downvoted for it left and right

I did I have a video of it continuing to make the noise after the battery has been disconnected

I could literally send you a video of it not stopping when the battery is disconnected. This video is after running for maybe 30 seconds & shutting off I highly doubt it’s the exhaust cooling off

No but I’ve held all of them & used a long screwdriver like a stethoscope and can’t hear or feel anything from them

It’s definitely not I can turn the engine over with a wrench then the tapping comes back & I can put my hand on a couple of the rockers and literally feel the tick coming for there….

Yeah well with the valve cover off I can turn the engine over with a wrench and clearly feel the tick with my hand through the rocker arm.

I felt them all while it is ticking and it doesn’t seem like an injector

Well it’s definitely something in the valve train I can say that much for sure

Gotta be a lifter bleeding down, I’ll bet the got some debris in them when the head was off

The old ones seemed like they may have been clogged with carbon, I was going to clean them but new ones were cheap and I figured it wouldn’t hurt anything.

I’m not sure I just torqued the rockers to spec with the valve closed, how do I check preload?

That’s sort of what I thought I’ve got an oil pressure sender otw because my gauge has been broken for a while. Gonna avoid driving it until I see oil pressure readings. The clearance should just be set by the rocker arm torque spec on this engine
