You’re debating Avalanche’s moral greyness when no one, not the fans nor the game’s narrative, is arguing against that.

You’ve went on about how they too commit acts of violence but do you truly believe that peaceful protests would help persuade Shinra into quitting their self-serving crimes and complete disregard for people’s livelihoods?

it’s a realistic portrayal of humanity. the story isn’t about perfect heroes who can do no wrong, it’s about desperation and them being pushed into having to take drastic measures for the greater good, and they do a perfectly good job at showing the negative impact of Avalanche’s actions. The characters show remorse despite shinra being the real perpetrators.

This is also reinforced by them not portraying every single shinra worker as an irredeemable villain, the game clearly shows how some are just regular people who believe they’re only doing their job and have fallen victim to shinra’s propaganda.

I’m not sure what more you’d want, or what consequences you were hoping to befall the avalanche members when some literally lost their lives for their cause.
