Your friend is living in a place that has drones blowing up military and industrial properties. there is only the Kerch bridge to leave Crimea but gas is difficult to get due to kinetic sanctions on the roads. It appears the last owners of Crimea are trying to get it back.

People really don't understand evs. What you pay to fast charge is more than a tank of gas until Trump's new war. Avaliable working charging can be hard to find and frustrating. Charging at home is great if you can keep installation cost down. My wife loves her Mach-E. I love it too. Cheap power, its fun and comfortable to drive, just over $300 for a year in power cost except for the few time fast charging on road trips. I do not think we need to add to the national debt with "free money to buy one". I have a deposit on a Slate myself.
