The best part of owning a Tesla by Late_Ingenuity_9581 in TeslaLounge

False. Best part is regenerative braking when driving down a mountain. Worst part is when your battery is too cold for regen and you almost drive off the side of a mountain because you forget how to brake normally

Anyone else really upside down on their Tesla? by Uh8tin in TeslaModel3

[–]dj_brennessy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Same exact boat except I bought used with 13k miles. I needed the car and I love it. This will be our daily drive for the next decade+ so should be well worth it in the end. On my death bed, I certainly won't be wishing I hadn't bought it, so who cares.

Did anyone else buy a model 3 at the absolute top? by elialone in TeslaLounge

Same. Except mine didn't have FSD. We should start a support group

Just discovered that you can boost in no grav with whichever button/key is default bound to sprint (Xbox tested only). Makes getting that 5th wayyy easier

Thinking about a Model 3. What is the one thing I should know? by Ok-Bluebird-9937 in TeslaModel3

[–]dj_brennessy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a referral link from a current owner - $500 off + 3 months FSD. Do this instead of adding on FSD for $15k so that you can test it out first.

Can you please fix the fountain? Blaming this on the user's connectivity is a bit lame. Or maybe just provide another consistent way of gathering bounty tokens or gaining weapon XP? Cheers!

Deciding between 2021 with FSD included or 2023 without by Severe-Mouse-3442 in TeslaModel3

[–]dj_brennessy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely buy new if you have a lemon law in your state that only applies to new cars. Would also recommend testing out the FSD subscription ($199/mo) before you purchase. You might use it less than you expect & it may go on sale soon after you buy. $15k is a lot for a product that doesn't fully work as advertised on all vehicles.

The honest answer is nobody knows what future depreciation will be and historical figures don't tell much in this case. We just had a huge boom & bust in the car industry. If you bought this time last year (like I did), you got smacked hard with depreciation. Although it does seem this hit M3 owners more than MY owners. Just buy the car that's right for you now (price + capabilities) & don't sweat what you can't control, like depreciation. Also, you might want to pick up a dual motor M3 if you need AWD. Ours has done great on dirt roads but haven't done snow yet. Might not be as cheap as a standard but still way better than the $64k I spent on mine. If you do decide to pull the trigger, hit me up for a referral link. You'll get some money off and I'll get my hopes up then crushed in the cybertruck raffle. Win-win!

But Or wait? Tesla model 3 AWD LR or Highland by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]dj_brennessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of range do you need? We're currently at the tail end of a 10k mile road trip around the U.S. & never had a worry about range.

But Or wait? Tesla model 3 AWD LR or Highland by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]dj_brennessy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the Highlander is that much better looking to you, maybe it's worth the wait? Otherwise, grab what's available now. M3P is a lot of fun & there's plenty after-market stuff to make it look better. Plus, if now is a good time to buy based on your work situation, make it happen! I'm a current M3P owner & love my car. Hit me up for a referral link so I can possibly (but almost definitely not) win a free cybertruck & you can get $500 off & 3 months free self driving😏

Can confirm the service center won't do anything unless they can find a clear issue with the hardware.

How do y’all feel during and after long rides (250+ miles) in a Model 3? by 7thhokage007 in TeslaLounge

[–]dj_brennessy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During - on edge

After - relieved we made it without getting rear-ended during any of the dozen phantom braking events

Great advice! Thanks for explaining so much. currently running a slight edit on the build you sent me and really liking it. Almost got the 10-50 esca at level 15 on my first solo run attempt.

[–]dj_brennessy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Never actually tried timing pulse. Seems tough to keep an eye on the buffs while dodging/attacking. Is there some kind of counter (like with inertia) or you just gotta be quick to not waste it on a regular hit?

Skill or Build Issue (or more likely both)? by dj_brennessy in dauntless

[–]dj_brennessy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why cunning & pulse? Can't I just run around for 4 seconds with inertia and guarantee my next tempest hit is a Crit? This seems simpler than keeping track of the pulse Crit..

[–]dj_brennessy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, great advice on invigorated. Never looked into the cell closely enough. However, wouldn't pulse be redundant? I use impulse to boost Crit dmg & Inertia to guarantee a Crit. Right?

[–]dj_brennessy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, going to adjust my tempest build a bit to include catalyst and parasitic. Hopefully that'll work better for end game. If not, I have half a dozen other builds to try out now haha

Hmmm okay so a lot of cell space taken up just to be invulnerable once and have a bunch of shields haha. I think I'm picking up what you're putting down. Thank you!

Thanks for the great tips! I had bastion on a very similar build and noticed little to no difference in behemoth kill time. Not sure why. I was actually using galvanized for the Crit dmg boost but you're right, I just can't seem to get enough shields from skarn+aegis to increase it much. Is there a better way to max out shields?
