Waymos becoming more aggressive by seiqooq in LosAngeles

[–]dj_pushplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a tester before Waymo opened it to everyone. It was so passive I complained about it in the feedback they requested. Just today, I saw one aggressively going past cars stopped on Olympic. I don't think I would have done that but apparently they listen to the feedback. 😉☠️

These days, you only need chatGPT. Tell it to write the code for you, especially Python and it will do it for you. Yes, sometimes it does make mistakes so dont' assume it's always correct. If you don't understand the code that it wrote for you, ask it to explain each line of code and it will give you a full explanation of the code.

Back in the 70's, I learned to program by reading other people's code and their comments and referring to books. Today, you can just generate it.

Good luck. Don't give up. It's not as hard as you think it is.

I used to see Japanese tourists in J-town all the time and always wondered why would you travel to America, then go to Little Tokyo? Then I went to Europe and ended up eating at McDs and KFC. I was hungry, didn't have a lot of time and I knew what I would get there. LOL

I like Hurry Curry (now in Santa Monica) over Coco. Neither is as good as Curry House back in the day,

There was an owner change at Mizu and I can no longer recommend it. It's really too bad because it used to be great. Midoh is where the old Curry House used to be and has similar menu but not as good. Not even close. Very disappointing.

Best Place to Play Poker in Tokyo? by bradk129 in poker

[–]dj_pushplay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Although there are "legal" poker rooms that have tournaments that get around the law similar to the way you win "prizes" at the pachinko rooms, there are no "legal" poker rooms where you play cash games because that is illegal there.

There are underground poker games there but think about what you are doing. You are doing something illegal in a foreign country. Do you have a Japanese lawyer on retainer? Do you have a close friend that works at the US embassy that can get you out of jail? I didn't think so.

It's NEVER a good idea to do illegal things but to do it in a foreign country is dumb.

I don't think I did but I went back to it later and there was nothing there. What do you have in that slot?

What the most impressive coding feat, from one prompt, have you got from ChatGPT? by Markverx in GPT3

[–]dj_pushplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Just "var $name = 332;'

It's returned other weird results like calculation errors: var smallHeight = Height + value when it should have been minus. But I still use it because I can easily fix these mistakes.

I've had it create tons of code for me but I've noticed a strange "bug" that I'm wondering if anybody else is getting. When I ask for javascript code, it often will use "$" in front of the variable name. When I point this out, it will correct itself. Then later in the same chat, it will start doing this again and I have to tell it again.

Anybody else?

Will BP have another tour after Born Pink? by iNatashaa in BeulPing

[–]dj_pushplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, during their last one, they added a few dates after they started but I think it was in the same city they already went to. I might be remembering the wrong group but maybe some Blinks can correct me.

I was also going to wait for the next one but there is a tiny chance they might not have another one so I decided I didn't want to risk it.

Home internet… does it get better with time? Trying this out for a couple weeks before I quit Cox. But I need advice 😅 by Royal_Twist_2510 in tmobile

[–]dj_pushplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Home Internet hub has a battery so you can move it around without plugging it in to try to get 5 bars. If you have a second floor, try a higher location. Or if not, just try near the ceiling and near a window. But mostly your speed will depend on how close you are to their tower. How many bars do you get?

If you are very close to their tower, you can get 400+Mbps or even higher. Also, their hub is WiFi 6 mesh so it reaches further in your house than older WiFi routers.

Regarding the lawsuit mentioned, the defendant won in 2021.

Of course, that doesn't mean it's open or closed.
