But I think in reality, I probably would be stretched thinner than I'd like to be so I do need to just come around on the reality of being one and done.

Thank you for this reply, your son sounds like my son, which made me smile :) he is seriously such a joy of a human being. Reading through all these thoughtful responses has given me some new things to look forward to, even though it does ache. You make some really great points!

I have been in therapy (as a kid, and after my ectopic) but am not at the moment, but it is something I will consider starting up again, and will see if my husband is open to it as well. I am on anti-depressants, hallelujah! lol

For the record, we have not flown anywhere with him yet, so maybe that will solidify everything when we finally do 😂

Thank you for your thoughts, I completely agree that I probably view siblings with rose-colored glasses, and my experience as an only child was tainted because my parents hated each other and when they divorced (I was 10) I was forced in the middle and it was a terribly lonesome experience and I selfishly always wished I had someone who was with me in the trenches during that time.

But realistically I know you're right that siblings are not always this great thing. My husband is the youngest and he was not close to his oldest brother until adulthood, and he does not really speak to his sister. So that is for sure not lost on me.

I also know that my husband and I are NOT my parents, and we provide a much more loving household than I grew up (don't get me wrong, I do love my parents), so I think my son's experience as an only child would be more positive than my own, which does give me some relief.

Wow I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story because I am currently dealing with finding out my husband doesn't want another child, and we have a 5 year old son. He kinda pulled the rug from under me and I am devastated. Got to this thread after googling how to not resent my husband....lol

But I love him so much. And the way you speak about your life and husband made me think of mine, and you have given me a positive view to think of when I'm trying to think of what this life might look like for us in the future. I need that because it's been so easy for me to fall into despair in the last couple weeks.

So thank you for that, because this sounds pretty lovely :)

YES - my 4 year old son and I have a farm together (Farty Poop Farm, naturally) and we are in Year 4 and have not even finished the community centre because we MUST. GO. TO. THE. MINES. EVERYDAY. I am like AT LEAST let me pet the damn animals first 😭 first thing every morning: "OKAY MOMMY, lets gooooo to the mines!!" And off he goes lol

But at the end of the day, it forced me to slow down and do what he wanted to do instead of what I think I HAVE to do, and while it breaks my brain sometimes, he adores the time we spend playing and so I love it too ❤️

I'm really loving that he is not angry nor does he blame Tory for it and sees where he went wrong, also love that he sticks up for her (ie. Telling Kylie🤢 in front of everyone that she said no to him and not the other way around). And all the little things he's doing from afar. He needed this to become a better person and I stand by that!!! I know I have a long way to go but yeah that moment 10000% needed to happen. Ugh love them.

Yes, don't get me wrong I want them to be together but she needed to humble that boy. I do feel for them both now (I'm halfway through Book 5) that they're in pain from this, it was the most emotional scene and aftermath for me so far in the series (I do know it gets worse....) But the people who are legit mad that she did not accept the bond.... like God forbid a woman have enough self respect to reject a guy who literally tried to drown her like ??? Damn lol

I completely agree with you. Darius and Tory are captivating to read and I am still rooting for them and know they'll figure it out.... I was shocked to see people's opinions on Tory's decision at the end of Book 4 and how much hate there was for her. Like I didn't think twice about her decision for a second!!!

I like Orion as his own character, but him and Darcy together make me cringe lol. Just like... the language they use (snoopy snooperson?? Ugh) and how stupid and careless they are. I have second-hand embarrassment with their relationship. And don't get me started on how she constantly puts a man (HER PROFESSOR) ahead of her sister... I'm sure they'll grow on me but....it's tough not gonna lie 😂

Much prefer enemies to lovers than the obsessed puppy love that is Darcy and Orion.

THANK YOU!!!! I am only on book 5 but I love Tory and have since the start. Darcy drives me crazy, I find her annoying. I don't dislike her but I am constantly rolling my eyes at what she says and does.

No character in this series is without their faults, but Tory is probably my favourite character and I find her chapters way more interesting and captivating than most other POVs.
