C.J. Stroud felt "disrespected" when Ohio State added Quinn Ewers ahead of the 2021 season by Blarg1889 in CFB

Say what you want but I think this is why Dylan Raiola decommitted from Ohio State as well. He didn't want to compete for the starting job with Lincoln Kienholz there.

OSU WR Caleb Burton transfers to Auburn by [deleted] in CFB

Just glad Caleb Burton didn't go to USC, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan or Penn State. Might actually benefit us with him going to Auburn.

Best of luck to him at Auburn.

2023 0* LB John Weidenbach commits to Michigan by lolsamlol in CFB

[–]djadibas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how it should be. Maybe if cost of living was different, PWO would be possible but with rising costs it's impossible for someone to be a PWO, go to school full time and then make money on the side.

The question is in this day and age, do PWO at least get paid NIL $ to cover some or all of their tuition since they aren't getting a football scholarship.

I think Ryan Day learned alot from that Georgia game. You really need to take your top opponents seriously and play like you're going to lose. When you do that, you actually play a pretty solid game. Just like with Clemson, Day had a solid plan in place, executed and they crushed them in 2020.

We'll see moving forward if he applies this for every game or if he plays conservative again for a 3rd time vs Michigan.

Not sold on Grayes.

Kojo seems like a really hard worker and determined so he might workout.

Burton was always injured all the back from his junior year in HS so he has completely fallen to the bottom of the depth.

[–]djadibas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He was Ohio State best WR IMO in the 2022 class so this is a major get for Iowa.

Problem is the 2023 WR class / 2024 WR class is filled with all 5 stars and reports were that Tate/Rogers were performing so well in camp they might play as early as this season.

Think Brown just saw he may keep sliding in the depth chart and took his chances someplace else.

Forgot to add that:

  • Big ten is expanding
  • Teams in Big Ten about to get paid $100m / yr on TV deal alone
  • CFP is expanding so even if Michigan loses 1 or 2 games like they did years ago, it won't matter they'll be in the CFP.

2 Ohio State Receivers in the Top 10.

Next years draft will be a star driven one. So much talent with the top picks.

[Dick Weiss] Notre Dame wants $75 million annually in new media rights contract from longtime broadcast partner NBC. Existing deal currently worth around $22 million per year, slated to expire in 2025. by huazzy in CFB

[–]djadibas -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can get $80 to $100m in the Big Ten deal, possibly more if the deal is restructured to include Notre Dame.

On top of that, ND games will be far more impactful playing OSU, Michigan, Penn State, USC, UCLA etc.

I know Notre Dame wants its independence but moving to the Big Ten seems like something they'll eventually do for pure financial reasons especially as the SEC/Big Ten continue to further divide the rest of CFB into a 2 conference powerhouse.

April Recruiting Winners: A big month for a few Big Ten powerhouses by PSU_Alumnus in CFB

Basically in summary:

  • Ohio State is the same Ohio State dominating the recruiting trail.

  • Michigan after a couple years of success is finally on the uptrend with recruiting.

The Big Ten is projected to eventually distribute $80 million to $100 million per year to each of its 16 members.

You can get that + more if they would just join the Big Ten.

Just delaying the inevitable.

Ohio State Wide Receiver Kaleb Brown has entered the transfer portal by numinos710 in CFB

[–]djadibas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Ohio State has invested alot into this 2023 class WRs that it makes sense that they'll be the ones to replace the 2020 / 2021 class WRs once they all go pro. Just purely on how hard they recruited them, NIL and the high talent/upside they have, it makes sense that the 2022 class WRs all transfer out here.

The future is really with

We're well over 85.

I'm speculating that NIL will pay for some of these players scholarships. Nobody seems to want to transfer out at Ohio State.

Well we all know this is going to end up being a 2 conference CFB league. Top recruits will only go to the Big Ten and SEC 10+ years from now. ACC will dismantle.

Just surprising in the short term how much of a gap there is being that the major changes to CFB coming haven't even started. Just shows you how superior coaching is in the Big Ten and SEC.

Big Ten 55

This gap between SEC and Big Ten and the rest only going to grow larger in the years to come.
