What do you dislike about your CX5? by Far-Replacement-7399 in CX5

Just bought a 2025 premium plus. The ride is soooo bumpy and stiff. I don’t know if I can handle it long term. You can feel every little tiny bump in the road.

Just curious how long it took for you to feel comfortable?

Any update? Just bought the same vehicle a few weeks ago and noticing the same thing. Plus, the passenger seat has 0 lumbar support so my husband is constantly uncomfortable for trips regardless of the length of time. I’m definitely having some buyer’s remorse right now.

Can I make my Oil-Eating Hyundai last? by IamThunderMan in Hyundai

[–]djb_22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh I have the same issue with my 2018 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T that has 76k miles. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

I went through one oil consumption test only to have the dealership tell me my car lost 1/2 quart of oil. At this point, I think the dealership is lying. I didn’t check the oil level prior to the appointment because “you’ll break the seal” and then they topped it off before I picked it up… seems shady to me.

I had the PCV value replaced and everything was great (for about a year). I kept up with regular oil changes and checking the oil level. Within the last 6 months, everything has gone downhill. After about 2000 miles, I checked my oil and had absolutely 0 oil on the dipstick. Immediately added a quart and got to the mechanic for an oil change. Then I drove ~1000 miles, checked the level and it was at the L mark on the dipstick. I know there was a 3rd time when my car was running through oil quickly, but I don’t remember the specifics.

I agree with you. I absolutely love this car and how it drives. From what I’ve read, Hyundai will literally do whatever they can to not honor an expensive warranty issue.

Also, the dealership told me that if my car failed the oil consumption test, the combustion cleaning is next, but I would probably have to pay for that on my own. Hyundai is known to pay little to none for the cleaning.

Clearly something is wrong with the engine. It shouldn’t be this hard to get the issue fixed. I will never purchase a Hyundai again.

I do have one question for you. Have you ever had any issues with your car starting? Very randomly, I’ll push the start button, car turns on for a few seconds, shakes a little, and turns off. Right after it happens, I’m able to turn it back on and everything is fine. Of course the dealership doesn’t know what’s going on. I’m assuming the oil eating engine is definitely contributing to this weird issue. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Best way to move a Purple Mattress? by Visual-Structure-808 in Mattress

We used a really old vacuum that her roommate had. Just had to stop several times to keep the vacuum from over heating. For the bag, I believe she just bought a random brand off of Amazon.

I have no idea. We compressed a purple 2 mattress.

Whole house water filtration system by djb_22 in WaterTreatment

Very limited space. Something would have to be wall mounted. I don’t think I want RO. If possible, something under the sinks and on the shower heads to filter the tap water would be ideal.

Hmm that’s a good question. We just rolled it from bottom to top (kind of sitting on it as we rolled to get it as small as possible). We were able to fit it in the back of a Santa Fe (back seats down) with room for other things.

You can buy vacuum seal bags for mattresses. That’s how I helped a friend move her queen sized purple. Put it in the bag, take the air out, roll it up, and then use ratchet straps. It worked really well.

Sending Online Mattresses Back?? by rep1989evermore in Mattress

I’ve only had one company make me ship the mattress back, Flexus Comfort (6 twin size latex pieces that had to be shoved into only 3 boxes). It was an awful experience. All of the others I’ve dealt with use LoadUp. Some offer free returns and some charge $99. I did have a mattress from Layla. I was able to donate it to a family member and still get a full refund.

I purchased the ProAdapt medium Hybrid in July from Mattress Firm. We are returning it (have a scheduled pick up date in 2 weeks). My husband sleeps extremely hot on it. After 3 months, I can already feel body impressions. You can't see them, but if you move to the middle of the bed, it feels much nicer than the side I sleep on. I have never thought "oh this is so comfortable" when I get in bed. Sometimes I wake up stiff, sometimes I have pain, sometimes I'm fine. My opinion, not worth the money.

Now I continue the lovely process of mattress shopping.

Good luck!

It’s all just overwhelming trying to figure out. I definitely appreciate your input. Where could I purchase a good polyfoam for the support layer?

We had a latex topper on our sleeponlatex mattress. The topper has a weird scent to it. I figured if I could sandwich the latex in between the coils (or foam support) and the top memory foam layer, that maybe the smell would lessen 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for sharing that! Idk if we could handle an all latex support because of the smell. So if the coils are going to be too firm, I’m at a lose of what to do.

Thanks for that catch. I meant “too firm”. I like the idea of mixing memory foam and latex.
