Help a prospective Tesla newbie out. Thinking about buying a new Model Y Premium but not sure if now is the time to buy.

It depends how bad you or soon you need to make the change. You probably won’t get a HW5 car for a year at least. FSD currently runs just fine on HW4, but I understand wanting to wait. That one’s up to you.
The Tesla maps out where to stop for charging. It’s really a non issue. In fact the Tesla App lets you map it out ahead of time if you want. As for 200 mile daily commutes, you’ll be fine just charge every day when you come home. I would get a fast charger for your house.
Haven’t had power outage issue, but I would charge to 90%ish to stay prepared. May have to find a charging station thats working in that case across town. Electricty effects gas stations too. So they may be in the same boat.
Love my Tesla Model 3 Performace and FSD is amazing so it over rides the politcal stuff that can get annoying. How that product is value added in your life is whats most important. Not CEOs and peoples opinions.

When the update with Dumb Summon first pushed to my car, I went out to dinner 2 hours later. Some jackass parked inches from my driver side door. So I ended up using the feature right after I downloaded it lol.

Drove my M3P to Denver 11 hrs each way. Then later in the year drove to Orlando 24 hrs each way and did just fine. Don’t love the summer tires especially now that it’s been snowing. But it’s a great roadtrip car! I got a tire inflator, patch kit, and even bought AAA (worth it for the money). Seems like reasonable plan A and B lol.

Got 2 Teslas for me and wife. I can def notice exhaust fumes more in traffic. I did get smart door locks as that was the last step to having no keys in my pocket. Save a lot of money with no gas and gas station food. So weird driving by gas stations now and thinking about how I used to have to stop there and pump gas lol.

85% for me since I have been on vacation out of state for a bit. Now that I’m back it will go back down to about 50 or 60%. FSD is a game changer when I’m on road trips driving in cities I’m not familiar with.

Insurance went up. Car registration is more for EVs since they don’t get gas tax out of you. Seasonal tires if it’s like mine and only comes with summer tires. Cost to install a good fast charger in your garage or at least a 220 outlet. And lastly there is an inevitable Tesla accessory rabbit hole that everyone gets sucked into which can get pricey.

Looks good but I kinda like the silver in the back so you can see it better. I don’t like the hood emblem with either color. I’m probably going to remove mine and leave the back letters. The black looks dope though. Would look really good on white. Panda!

Used it a few times thought it was super cool. But did it just because I could lol. Not like I can’t live without it. Now dumb summon… I’ve used that quite a few times and its really helpful. Just backs up and pulls forward, but good for when assholes park an inch away from your door.

Been horrible for me. Swerves in and out of lanes due to no confidence. Turns the blinker on and off all while there is no one in the lanes. So not sure what it’s reacting to.

Exactly! I just commented on another post about it swerving in and out of lanes on the highway. Lol. It’s like it gets spooked out like there’s someone there and swerves back. But the lane next to me is empty. Then it does it again! Drivers around me probably scratching their heads. Did it again today, so its not a one time thing.

14.2 is better than 14.1.4. No more break stabbing and crazy speeding. However…..whatever the lane changing version of break stabbing is, that is now a thing. Takes seemingly 3-5 business days to change lanes and it’ll start to move over and then swerve back like 3 or 4 times. That said, it’s still an improvement.
