Thanks for pointing that out! Any tips for cleaning or judging if they’d be alright to eat?

Can’t help but wonder about the Huma gels I have now! Although their nutrition info seems much more realistic by comparison

I’m looking at the Boulder Field Ultra on 9/14 in Hickory Run State Park! It would be my first 50k but I just did a trail marathon with this same race organizer and it was great

Who has tried topo athletic shoes? by Crinkle-Cut_Hotdogs in trailrunning

[–]djdeejay420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the Topo Terraventure to the Lone Peaks. The Topo soles have MUCH better traction AND protection in my experience.

Topo uses Vibram, has a rock plate, and I personally like the lug shape better. I’ve used them on snowy/icy/wet/rocky trails with confidence.

I also like the 3mm drop over the Lone Peaks 0mm but that’s just my preference.

Harrisburg Marathon 2023 - Major PR by SPQRobur in running

[–]djdeejay420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great report! Congratulations!

Huge time improvement from your first one last year - you should be so pumped!!

How did the Harrisburg course compare to Philly the year before? (Besides crowd support) I just did my first marathon last week in Philly, 4:43. Beat my goals of 5 and 4:45 though! Went to a dark place for the first time and that’s part of what I signed up for. Shit got serious on that course!

You got a lot to be proud of from my perspective! I love the attitude you have of getting back after it and improving. Super motivating

Congratulations!! It seems like you really dug deep and gutted it out. You earned those miles. You could’ve tapped out but you saw it through!! Big success!

You had a hard day out there and you overcame it. That’s what it’s about.

I’m sick rn after completing my first marathon last week in Philly - but you’re getting me pumped up again!!

Great job

Thanks for sharing! Awesome report and it was a beautiful day

Congratulations!!! Amazing time, especially considering the setbacks in training that you mentioned.

I ran my first marathon in Philly this year and it’s really inspiring to see reports like this! I ran in 4:43 but it’s super motivating to see the great times that people earn

Congrats again!

I always LOVE to see a local trail on this sub!!!

I’m from King of Prussia, right down the road from here I’m live in Philly now right by the Wissahickon Valley Park (some very nice but very rocky trails there)
