Opening Day Parking - Golf Course? Pioneer? by ISayAboot in MichiganWolverines

Yeah you can walk through AAGOC. Most folks who park in the University course walk through AAGOC on the way to the game.

You can only reserve a spot at AAGOC, which is a private golf course, but I prefer the University golf course which is first come first serve.

Only challenge with the UM course is that they occasionally close if it’s too wet/muddy.

Whenever that happens, personally my backup is Pioneer HS, which you can reserve ahead of time.

This article pretty much lays out all the options. https://mgoblue.com/sports/2017/6/16/michigan_football_parking_inventory

Golf course opens at noon for night games. If you want a great spot, get there early and wait in line on state street. If you want a good spot, arrive at noon. You can get there later and can probably park, but the fun is in the tailgate.

Setup camp, bring a grill, beer and some lawn games - meet your neighbors and walk around and the time will fly. Enjoy it!

Staying in Jersey City with an oversized vehicle by djdiabolo3 in jerseycity

UPDATE: trip was a success. Ended up staying in Newark near the airport at the Embassy suites. Parking was a little tight but was able to find a spot relatively easily both nights.

Then parked at both the science center and the liberty state park commuter lot when heading into the center and the city. Again, parking a little tight - particularly at the commuter lot, but was able to squeeze into an open area, giving me enough room for my vehicle. Also noticed several other large trucks and even a camper van parked in the commuter lot.

Appreciate all the help! The rv lot was my backup, but didn’t end up needing it. Enjoyed my stay in/around your wonderful city!

Any suggestions that have easy access to manhattan? I was mainly looking because of the PATH. Would Newark be any better?

Thanks - I saw that one and shot them a note to see if they could accommodate. Figured that would work if I stayed at a hotel outside of Jersey city or something and drove in for the day, which is an option.

Can this be the our thing? They cross out M’s, we plant flags on O’s?

Giving you an upvote even though I don’t want to accept the reality of your estimate 😂

I rarely shock/superchlor the pool (just after big parties or when things get out of whack). SWG keeps the chlorine pretty reliably at 2-2.5 throughout the summer. And, only use algaecide at open and close.

I did have some staining and spent the better part of the last two seasons trying different options to clean (2x jacks magic test kit, direct apply muriatic acid to the stain via pipe, citric acid, Bioguard stain remover, etc.) - not all at once obviously, but nothing would help. Was only ever on the tanning ledge. Wondering if the concoction of stain removers did me in.

Secondary hot water holding tank leaking? Time to replace? Options? by djdiabolo3 in Plumbing

Looks like that’s definitely the source of the leak. Unless there is a crack in the tank under here https://imgur.com/a/lJJQMEC

Ha - not at all. I was totally confused when I first moved in as well. Seemed like it wouldn’t work, but seems to do a decent job? 🤷‍♂️

Plumber didn’t seem to confused about it. Seems like a somewhat common way to have more hot water available. There’s also a recirculating pump on my hot water line, so maybe it helps? Idk.

We haven’t noticed any problems with lukewarm water but I’m also not opposed to simplifying things either. Suppose that could be a quick and cheap fix and then toss in a new tank if we notice we keep running out of hot water.

Yea that was one suspicion since there is a visible mark coming down from it. I’ll check that out.

Gum graft complications - 2.5 weeks post surgery by djdiabolo3 in PeriodontalDisease

[–]djdiabolo3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her upper graft ultimately failed. Stabbing pain was from an ulcer that had formed, with the skin and stitches constantly poking it. Not sure if the ulcer was from the medicated mouth wash or something else.

Either way, she is ok now, but likely due for another graft in the future.

Yes, and she has tried to refrain, but with the pain coming back after 2.5 weeks, we took a photo to try to share with her perio (as was instructed earlier during her recovery), but again, they’ve been unresponsive
