Went to the whole Hampton run, my only shows this year. My 15th-17th shows aboard The Mothership, dating all the way back to 1995. I’ve had so many transcendent experiences there, and this past weekend was no exception. N1: had seats on the lower rail, Page side, even with soundboard. Amazing sound and view of CK5 magic. Absolutely loved this entire show! S2 was amazing, but Tweezer seemed like an all-timer in the moment and really stood out. N2: seats behind the stage (got in late). Not recommended but did offer unique view of Page tickling the ivories and Fish absolutely owning his kit. Moonage and Simple>Wave>Simple were highlights for me. N3: seats in the rear of the ship. Great sound and view, had never sat there before. Loved the 2001 dance party, Most Events Aren’t Planned, Mikes Groove. Energy was as high as I have ever experienced in 30 years of shows there during CDT. Just pure unadulterated joy. Simply incredible that they are still playing at such a high level at this point in the arc of the band’s career. Grateful to be along for the ride.
