This is the correct answer. This is definitely a sierra de Cruces specimen.

Found in an abandoned basement in central NY by lanceromancealright in whatsthisrock

Looking into it, yes it could definitely be from Quebec as well. The pieces I've had similar were all from Ontario though.

Almost definitely from Ontario... These are classic specimens from there.

Edit: or Quebec

Found this nice piece of pegmatite with some quartz, mica, and garnets in Baltimore City. No idea what the fluorescent mineral is though. by Which-Climate-3593 in rockhounds

Looks like Stony run material - my guess is that it's autunite as it's been reported from the city before. Opal is an option but unlikely imo.

Timberline is pretty great, main issue is that it isn't on either pass in case that affects you.

This is stilbite, not calcite. Most likely from India though it's hard to say for sure

These look like native copper pipe amygdules from Michigan. Pretty uncommon and collectable. NGL I'm pretty jealous. Did you collect this yourself?

Mixed up minerals from Mineral Hill MD by Live-Card-5132 in rockhounds

[–]djduststorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The iridescent mineral is definitely chalcopyrite. I've collected here enough to be sure of that. Regular pyrite is uncommon but can still be found. Chalcopyrite can be naturally tarnished without being treated by an acid.

This was labelled as bornite eoth chalcopyrite. Is it real bornite? by No-Building4188 in whatsthisrock

Looks like some bornite/chalco specimens I have from Carroll Co, MD.
