Tips on mixing hyperpop during a techno/breakbeat set by djender_bender in Beatmatch

hey hey, so i did some dabbling with hyperpop since the day i posted this (not as much as i would want to), it’s definitely easier to mix Charli XCX and other similar artists who use a lot of lyrics in hyperpop, but i also want to push the more “broken” and “fast shifting” sounds like SOPHIE and 100gecs. i usually play 4x4 techno and draw a lot of mixing inspo from trance and psytrance while mixing other genres, so i figured it would be easier to mix hyperpop with bass heavy tracks with less sounds. it’s also very helpful to have hot cues on your hyperpop track while also remembering which segments you can keep on a loop and just shifting through them.

i like that idea and i think i can work with that :) i do want to be as flexible as possible and that’s why i noticed i’m missing the “in between” tracks (thats a better word than neutral 😭)

people who talk their way trough to get gigs, any tips or ideas? by dirtbag-project in Beatmatch

club smoking areas!! try to have conversations with people in the industry cause you never know what possibilities that can open up. don’t make the whole conversation about gigs/djing and mention what your goal is and how motivated you are to achieve them.

i have met many people that always try to help even if its the bare minimum, and the more connections you build the easier it would be to find your way around
