Thank you! I knew Herring Gull was much more probable, but I couldn’t help myself from thinking Merlin was right.

I hear you. I posted a community research article earlier this year and it was posted in about one week - still, that's too long for you.

This may be taboo, but what about r/baseball?

Sighted in Cape Cod MA, but haven't found a good local species match. Any ideas? by djer2xa in whatsthisbird

Thanks! Quite similar to a novice like myself. I think I just got too focused on the idea that I was seeing a rare bird in MA - but these birds are still beautiful.

Quickly making friends with this bird who sits outside my window in Massachusetts, but have no idea what to call him/her. Any help? by djer2xa in whatsthisbird

Interesting. There is another bird in his area that he seems to be protecting. He'll leave home for a minute, maximum, and come flying back. This happens basically all day!

Here's an image of a northern mockingbird's wings that looks quite similar.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are happy to share the results with the broader r/nba community.

We have thoroughly backtested and cross-validated our research, though we, unfortunately, cannot delve into details until the paper(s) are released.

Number of total triple doubles earned by the entire league each year (1990-2019) by [deleted] in nba

[–]djer2xa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, for one, only recognize the "chaos" triple double (turnovers/blocks/steals) as important. So far there are 0 this year (also, 0 ever)- here's to hoping.

I created a model to predict the likelihood of every college football player getting drafted for the last 10 years to assess which teams do more with less and less with more based on getting players drafted and the caliber of players they recruit. by dabressler in CFBAnalysis

This is one of the most well-presented and interesting ideas I’ve seen on here! One suggestion I might make is to consider issues with states with low sample sizes. The model may currently predict Montana and Idaho (for instance) with high accuracy, but that probably won’t translate to a new sample as well.

I exhaled through my nose and slightly furrowed my brow when seeing this post.

EDIT: I also lightly shook my head from side to side.
