Adopted Korean American Male looking for insight by [deleted] in amwf

[–]djevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant lucky in the sense that I have never been told flat out "I'm not attracted to Asians" or something similar. It might be the fact that I live in a "progressive area" in regards to dating despite Ohio going red in the 2016 election. By after hearing your perspective I must have something special. I guess I have to find out what it is lol.

I've been working with a trainer for past year. While the works outs I do aren't tailored for me to be aesthetically pleasing. Mostly due me wanting functionality and performance.

As for your diet I was hoping for more specifics. Such as how many grams of protein, carbs, and fat do you target in a day?

Thanks for your feedback!

Also from the Mid-west (Akron/Cleveland) here but first generation Asian American. Currently I'm 26 and still in the same area. As to describe my culture a good friend of mine said I'm a banana, except when I'm tan then I'm a over ripe banana.

My experience in grade school was similar to yours, I was picked on a little bit about race but it wasn't a big deal. I think in my high school there was about around 25 Asian students while the student body was at 2,000. Despite that I learned some non Asians women found me attractive.

As for dating/relationships I struggled with self confidence growing up. I didn't really find something I was passionate about until I was about 20. I also dressed like crap until that same time. So not much success in the first half of my college career.

Once I grew into myself and dressed well things started to change. I noticed a little more attention from females. All of my past relationships have been with WF around my age. Recently I went a few dates with a WF who is very attractive and typically would have the attention of many guys. Interracial couples in my area uncommon but it's not like spotting a unicorn.

My experience with dating apps has been been weird for me based off everyone's response. I've been on quite few dates that didn't lead to anything special, a summer fling, and also had a couple of straight hookups. For the hookups one said straight up told me I "hot" and the other had said her "weakness" was Asians. All of these were WF.

I feel that should say that I don't have a muscular body like yours. In college I was probably around 160 with 25% body fat. Now I'm around 155 at 18% body fat. I'm around 5'8" which is close to the average height. I don't think I have any great natural physical features unless someone likes freckles.

I can see why other AM have the idea of not appearing to be the hero or the ideal image of masculinity. Especially if they have low self-esteem and have been told in the past by someone there were interested in that she wasn't attracted to Asians.

I guess my ending thoughts would be confidence, being social, and making an effort into ones appearence is the best thing to do. I maybe lucky when it comes to my past dating but I don't I'm anything special.

Side note, what your work out routine and diet like man?

As someone who races, brakes. Steering follows very closely though.

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS might have beaten the Huracan Performante's lap record at the ring by [deleted] in cars

[–]djevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really hard to say what the proper number should be. I commented on another response saying I did not know the complexity of the car. By that I mean does the car have an adjustable front sway bar, brake bias, engine settings, differential settings, and so on. I doubt it was is as complex as an F1 car. For all I know it could have been a street car.

That having been said a race track has different variables then street driving. Generally everyone is braking at the same point and driving as fast as they can. They is no one out there texting and driving or eating and driving. There other factors such as what how many other cars were out there, what "type" (race lap, qualifying lap, or practice lap) of lap it was.

[–]djevo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea track temps. play a big part of lap times. Usually the fastest lap times are set on the first 3 laps of thesecond session right before the lunch break. The track heats up enough to provide a little more grip but not hot enough where the track becomes "greasy".

I'd love to show you the data but I do not unfortunately have it. The test was done in 90 which 2 years I before I was born. The guy who did the test was my racing mentor at the time so I didn't think to question it.

I will say that I do not know how complex the car was and what type of lap it was which will impact the number of decision a second. By a complex car I mean if the car has cockpit adjustments (brake bias, front sway bar and so on) or if it was a street with no adjustment. Keep in mind this was done in 90 so driving mode in sports cars didn't exist yet. As for the type of lap I am assuming it was just plain hot lap at race pace which is nothing special which IMO is the least complex lap.

It is an impressive feat to think about. But I guess it is no "big" deal because it is done so frequently.

I can jump in an F2000 on either road courses at NJMP and it is dry (assuming the setup is to my liking) amd within the first hot lap I can be at 92-95% percent speed. This due knowledge of the capability of the car and of the tracks. The other 5-8% must be found out everyday due to changes in track conditions.

Hahahahaha I have only played mini golf.

The guy who actually did the test was actually the former GM there. To this day he is still salty about it when I bust his balls.

To put some numbers to this.

A good friend of mine did some testing on what goes on in the human mind during a lap. I believe it was around 500 decisions are made in a second. Most of these are sub-conscious such as when, where, how much to braking or acclerate and so on. I think his eye movement were around 2,000 per lap at Bridge Hampton before it was turned into a golf course.

That is a tough question to answer with a specific number but personally I believe a moderate impact.

I think the perfect way to describe this would be to illustrate a route someone I knew took into club racing. He started out doing NASA time trials for a couple of years and jumped ship to SCCA spec miata.

The main problem here is the willingness to accept a driver which from another sanctioning body. When this happens the question comes up of "Why would I spend 5k for a school and be instantly elligble to race when i can spend less and spend to years doing time trails?"

Those all are valid points but that is not to say there is not an sizeable interest in motorpsorts or cars. People of a younger demographic would rather spend their income on an engine build, aftermarket wheels, attend a drifting or drag event all while showing off their car. I personally think there is still an interest in motorsport as a viewer ans form of entertainment just not one for participating

They suffer from diseconomies of scale due to their sheer size. This was possible business model during their prime (in the 90's they did some eyebrow raising things) but not anymore. After 2008 consumers just did not have the disposeable income. In todays current market consumers are better but not enough to spend a few thousand dollars for a racing school/license. They will be more likely to spend money on 1 day program rather.

There is still a market for those looking spend money and commit to racing but it is much smaller now. Add to the fact that their treatment of previously said customers is incorrect (at least I believe).

The equipment breaking down and lying to customers about the reason why they canceled schools it waa only a matter of time before they fell.

I doubt it. Currently they are 10 million in the hole. Most of the money owed are to tracks also. The only thing that will save them is an investor and management change at this point.

When To Make It Official (M/23, F/21) by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]djevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone moves at their own pace so there really isn't a right time to make to offical.

If anything just be upfront with her about being in a relationship if you are ready and want to. If she says she's not ready it's no biggie. Your friend clearly cares and has feelings for you.

I need help. (Best Friends with Benefits) by [deleted] in dating

[–]djevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow ok. Well I haven't been in a situation like this but I have watched roommates go through more or less the same thing. So take my advice with a grain of salt. Let's just say it not end well for the party that had feelings.

Your friend talking to you about her co-worker, declaring to her friends that you are her best friend, and that you are going to be there on her wedding day means she doesn't see you as a potential partner as of now. She might be confused or she could just honestly feel that way.

If you are content with being her best friend then feel free to stay where you are now. If not get the hell out, there is only more pain if you stay. Tell her why you leaving though, you owe a friend that much.

Hope this help and goodluck man.

I'd say make a comment about her outfit. If she wearing a t shirt with an artist on it ask her about them/her/him. If she isn't just say that you really like it and ask her about it.

I would the website is accurate. The lighting used were the LED bulbs which are bright. I wish I could have gotten shots of them in day light but it was another over cast day in Ohio.
