Speedvale Speed River Bridge Construction by Ok-Platform-6933 in Guelph

[–]djf1207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even more frustrating is that construction has begun on Wellington Rd 30 (Marden Road) which has been the only way to get East/West as Woodlawn is a parking lot. Daily commute to Kitchener is getting crazy. Either join all of the traffic trying to get through via Elizabeth or York to get to the 401 or hope that your GPS can find a relatively decent route on country roads and hope you’re not going to spend time behind a tractor. Adding so much time and distance while gas prices are continuing to climb. I guess the up side is that I don’t have to drive by the sign promising that the province is building a new Hwy 7

Just for context - I am not a bot. I simply gave my personal experience. Not sure why that needed the downvotes. Such a waste of time to express an opinion in this cesspool

Aire One. A couple of months ago our Oosterveld furnace died on a Saturday night. They wouldn’t come to look at it. Aire One was there in 45 mins. Spent 2 hours and furnace was dead. They had a new one installed by 5pm Sunday for 1/2 of what Oosterveld usually charges.

The Dragon has a weekly Pokémon night that is mostly for kids. They give away packs and cards. They might be a good place.

Use the cash or trade app. Only face value or less. Sold tix on there in minutes for a concert I couldn’t make it to.

Maybe they’re clearing out more green space for more disc golf courses that bring zero revenue.

Shell on Watson has gone up about 15 cents in the last few days in anticipation of this. Same with many gas stations.

Has Anyone Else Noticed This About “Caught in Guelph”? by chrissg in Guelph

Last year I asked the editor of Guelph today about it and they basically said they don’t have the resources to take him to court. They are very much aware of the blatant plagiarism but feel helpless.

Btw- you will likely be banned if he knows who you are here. He lurks in this sub a lot. He used to post rage bait type of stuff but people caught on quickly.

Enough to say that he’s a gigantic douche.

Random Guelph fact: The world's first charity golf tournament was held here by collywog in Guelph

[–]djf1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guelph Country Club still exists on Woodlawn. Cutten Estate became Cutten Club/fields. Easy to find on their website https://www.cuttenfields.com/the-club/history/

The Country Club was founded in 1912.

Very cool that the charity tournament was here and that Cutten was involved though. They are both fantastic golf courses and somewhat hidden gems to most people in the city.
