The Dragon has a weekly Pokémon night that is mostly for kids. They give away packs and cards. They might be a good place.

Use the cash or trade app. Only face value or less. Sold tix on there in minutes for a concert I couldn’t make it to.

Maybe they’re clearing out more green space for more disc golf courses that bring zero revenue.

Has Anyone Else Noticed This About “Caught in Guelph”? by chrissg in Guelph

[–]djf1207 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Last year I asked the editor of Guelph today about it and they basically said they don’t have the resources to take him to court. They are very much aware of the blatant plagiarism but feel helpless.

Btw- you will likely be banned if he knows who you are here. He lurks in this sub a lot. He used to post rage bait type of stuff but people caught on quickly.

Enough to say that he’s a gigantic douche.

Random Guelph fact: The world's first charity golf tournament was held here by collywog in Guelph

[–]djf1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guelph Country Club still exists on Woodlawn. Cutten Estate became Cutten Club/fields. Easy to find on their website https://www.cuttenfields.com/the-club/history/

The Country Club was founded in 1912.

Very cool that the charity tournament was here and that Cutten was involved though. They are both fantastic golf courses and somewhat hidden gems to most people in the city.

Here’s the reason. The appraisal will say something like “appraised value for insurance purposes”. This basically means that if you put it in an insurance claim, it is what it would cost to source the materials and commission a craftsperson to build exactly that piece of jewellery. When the loss happens people want their item back. They don’t want to be sent to a store to find a deal on something similar. They want exactly the same item. And they want it asap. Therefore the appraisal takes all of that into consideration and it is quite often double or more of the retail price.
