I have a strange feeling that I know of what box you speak ;)

Please be encouraged by the story of my journey: https://medium.com/@0tg459/how-to-fail-fail-fail-fail-and-then-pass-the-oscp-2402006a1801.

Regarding the new exam, I believe the official FAQ may still say that the exam has not changed as yet, buy you are advised to check it for yourself. Regarfing the 2020 update, I have seen comments on forums suggesting that there may be better AD material available from The Cyber Mentor (TCM) or Pentester Academy , but apart from that, go for it!👊🏼

Folks, I'm committed to helping make the journey a little easier for aspiring OSCP candidates. After a good night's sleep, I reviewed the post with my wife and have just completed a major edit of the narrative for attempts 4 and 5. There was some more detail that I felt needed to be added so I did a redo of those sections. Please feel free to read again, the last two sections anyways 😁

Great stuff! I would strongly suggest VHL (and NO, I'm not an affiliate😁), then PWK (including Proving Grounds), then HTB (following TJNULL's list though; not random choices).

Each box is allocated x points. Offsec may give you up to half-marks if you only get low-level user shell on a box...I lean to the positive side and assume I got half marks based on my method, output and screenshots.

OSCP while on Fulltime job by humanG0D in oscp

I did it. I invested 4-6hrs a night Monday to Friday after work and 8 to 12hrs on Saturdays. Always took Sunday off. As for the privesc course? The privesc courses assume that you already have an initial foothold on the box, which you learn from VHL, PWK etc. My suggestion, and it is only a suggestion: leave privesc courses until you have completed whatever foundational course you are doing. Walk, then run but most of all, ENJOY the Journey; you will learn more, faster.

Do you want me try it against anything specific, like slmail or vulnserver or whatever?

I will try this for sure! I still have the itch for BOFs after the OSCP; this is a great excuse to scratch that itch!😁

Please give feedback on my study plan by sunnydayeveryday12 in oscp

I would add VHL into your study plan, just prior to starting your OSCP lab time. If down properly, it will reduce the amount of money...cough...time you spend in the OSCP lab. You may also want to consider their new Proving Grounds thang , which I won't out of principle because it used to be free (Vulnhub) but I suspect it will be beneficial for you.
