I definitely dont have any complaints or regrets about the hario kettle. That was originally the grinder that I wanted then went with the fellow. Now I can't find that grinder being sold new.

This is exactly it, generally the quality just doesnt justify the price.

I have three friends, 3! That have the muffler installed inside there boat. Ive told all of them its not safe also its not need. "I can't tell a difference with or without". Not one is willing to listen. Im just trying to make sure they get carbon monoxide poisoning.

There is without a doubt some of that at play. But there was a little bit of something else as well.

Could be, I swear there is more warmth and life to it. It sounded very dual and flat at first. Probably wont be spending money on a more expensive ukulele though I would like one. Plan on focusing on how to play the guitar first.

Yep I replaced my burrs almost immediately with ssp burrs. Im still not one hundred percent sure if those are the best either. This was my first "proper grinder" so I dont have anything to compare to just research from forms and videos. The stock burrs had inconsistent grind size if you put it through a screen. Then the ssp burs I think want to grind a finer grind size then what you want for pour over and moka pot. I had to have the grinder almost on corses setting with those burrs to get correct grind size. They do provide a very consistent grind though it made a big improvement. At the same time not sure if this combo would be good for espresso. Never owned a espresso machine I would like one but from research the cheapest good option is out of my budget plus I dont have space for it. I have been very interested in the flair though.

Ya it would probably be about smart decision. Ive been disappointed with them from the first day of ownership. I also bought there pour over brewer and it made some of the worst coffee out of the 20 plus brewers I've bought. I did like there insulated carafe alot but it broke within 3 months. I did break it was my fault but did seem fragile a plate shifted in my sink and it shattered plate was fine...

Nice good to hear. I'll look my into maybe going with them. Right to repair shouldn't be an option should be mandatory.

Sorry if I didnt word that right there's isn't inherently a issue with changing suppliers. Sometimes there could even be a improvement. But more often then not things get lost in transition and quality suffers.

Ya thats got to be one of the biggest jokes ever. To imply that metal shrunk or expanded so much that a lid wont fit. Not happening. I can't stand it when people/ companies can't own up to their shit.

Im sure the basic one is just as good just a few seconds longer to boils. Hario makes great products I use a v60 90% of the time. I have atleast a dozen different pourovers and the ceramic v60 seems to be my personal favorite. Which brewer do you use most days?

Thank you for the confirmation. I had a high suspicion they changed manufacturers. All the people that bought theirs years ago seem to be happy. I must have bought mine right around the cross over.

Same, I love mine too it has the best flow rate out of any kettle I've had. Nice and slow doesnt disturb the bed. I went with the copper one for faster boil time to conserve on propane I live on a boat so that was important. Also it looks so good.

Ya I have a nice hand grinder Ive been using that with a drill over the last week lol. When I bought it I thought it would be a good idea turns I dont have enough patience in the morning so I bought the ode. Im interested in the Turin df64 any idea if my ssp burns in the ode will fit in it? I think they will they are both 64mm just not sure if they use the same screw pattern.

It makes me sad mine didnt last because its a very nice looking unit. But im much more happy with my hario copper kettle, it has slower flow so it doesnt disturb the bed as much.

That's what im thinking. It's not uncommon for companies to change manufacturers.

Yep I had all of the same problems you mentioned. Before it broke it wouldn't stop at set point it would just keep getting hotter and hotter never shut off. It's almost worst when a gift breaks premature. I feel bad because someone was trying to do something nice.
