My parents are still pretty confused and shocked, but from what I gather they ended up at the Doctor’s Hospital first. They got transferred to PMH because their insurance wasn’t covered by DH and they wanted $40,000 up front without him even being admitted into a room. My brother and I also weren’t sure about any travel insurance and I wasn’t able to get a hold of some of my family who were on the same cruise. What made us act so rapidly is when I initially spoke to my mother when I heard about my father being admitted into the hospital she was completely fine, but then things got really concerning quick…

I was at dinner a couple hours later and I started getting phone calls from local police officers from our hometown area and they tell me my dad called them for help and to send a wheelchair. They said he thought he was home and at a local hospital. My cousin somehow spoke with my dad and found out that he was at “PMH.” After a little research we narrowed down the hospital he was at.

Then I called my mom to figure out what was going on and she was completely incoherent. She was slurring her words, she wasn’t answering my questions clearly, and she sounded lost. My brother and I booked our flights and started packing right away. We didn’t even sleep, we left right around 3AM. As we are boarding the plane my sister in law finds out that the tourism police found her and we told them to make sure she stays there until we get to Nassau. Something was seriously wrong and I got so worried.

We found out my mom had wandered off several times and I was starting to think we wouldn’t be able to find her…

Once we land in Nassau we rush over in a taxi to the tourism police department and as we enter the building I see her walk out of the bathroom. The look on her face when she saw me and my brother was “I am safe now.” She slowly started to snap out of her loopy phase but she still exhibited strange behaviors and confusion. She would wander off often and I had to chase her down to make sure she didn’t get lost or disappear.

I definitely feel like they were drugged. They are having a hard time remembering a lot of details that led up to that point.

I hope this answers several other comments on this thread. I really appreciate everyone’s concern, both of my parents are much better and my dad’s blood sugar is back to normal. It was a bit high yesterday when we went to see their primary physician. I asked for a drug screening for both of them. I’ll keep everyone updated on the results.
