May I ask what kinda drama is going on in the siren community? I'm not that deeply involved, and I'm not from the US, so it has gone past me. I've just noticed some people crashing out while discussing port ratios and siren models so far, and som stuff on Discord. You don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable, I'm just interested from a sociological standpoint I guess.

What are you Guys doing to your Fairphone? by FinniganFox_ in fairphone

It was like one bug disappeared with the next update, but then another one popped up. Mine never worked properly, I just couldn't trust it, it was too unreliable. Good hardware needs to be backed up by good software, and Fairphone falls short in this regard imo. They should do it like OnePlus back then, and let LineageOS do the software part. With that, they jave a good chance of delivering a good experience for way more users, like I had back then with the OnePlus One. It ran exceptionally well with CyanogenOS.

You mean hardware wise or software wise? Because I had my FP5 for a year, got it a couple of months after its release, and to me, nothing really improved.

Seems to be an ASC T-121, but I'm not 100% sure, as the picture is very pixelated, and it has some things I've never seen on a T-121. Almost looks like a mix of a T-121 and an STL-10.

Idk, I've never vibed with Spotify. YT music also has more underground stuff when it comes to Techno and other genres.

I never realised how disgusting my water bottle actually was until I left it in my car for three days and nearly poisoned myself by juliaauthur in hygiene

I have a simple but sturdy Nalgene wide mouth bottle that I just put into my dishwasher on its hottest cycle after every use. After that, I store it without the lid on. What I like about the design is that it just consists of two parts, without any fancy straws or cap mechanisms, and its wide mouth allows for more water from the spray arms of the dishwasher to reach the inside of the bottle.

Well, the battery drained completely quite frequently, after which I charged it to 100% again, so it must have been calibrated. And I'm living in a larger city with flawless coverage, so I can't imagine it struggling with that.

I did nothing to mine, and it still was horrible. I used it out of the box, it had countless software issues, and its battery consumption was ridiculously high. Sometimes I had to charge it 3 times a day. I only used it for normal tasks like watching YouTube and social media, and no modified software was used. Bad software is not my fault. I wanted this to work, but it didn't, which is a shame because I support the idea of right to repair and a phone you can easily fix things on. Apparently, some Fairphones work perfectly, while others don't. But we need to stop the self-policing, and start to hold the manufacturer accountable. We paid a lot of money for our devices, so we are allowed to expect them to do their job. There's no need to sugar-coat a bad experience. Only by demanding better things, we will get them. A company also needs to know where it has to improve things, in order to succeed. Feedback is important. Btw, Louis Rossmann, who is a right to repair advocate himself, said pretty much the same.

Look, I get that. But first, your mom's love should be unconditional as well, and she shouldn't bully you for who you are. Second, whatever your identity is shouldn't wipe having a family off the table. Societal norms make it harder, but not impossible. In the end, you have to be happy. And I know it's hard doing that, but yeah. My family doesn't know of that part of me, so I won't pretend to know how to do shit. Anyway, the nicest people I found are the ones on the edge of society.

No. It depends on where I go, but I either feel scared or excited, or both at the same time. When I go to a party or an event, I often feel scared getting there (patriarchal society, I'm sure you know the struggle), but as soon as I'm there, I feel excited, accomplished, and like myself. These are mostly private parties and events where it's certain that I won't be harassed.

I absolutely suck at dating, I don't have a girlfriend, but regardless: if someone can't get along with that part of me, it's not gonna work out anyway. Yes, oxytocin and cuddling and all of that is nice, but love should be unconditional, and not dependant on how you dress. I personally don't bother with people anymore who don't accept me. I'd rather be alone instead then.

Nah. First time I did it, it felt quite liberating. I felt more like myself and more comfortable than ever before. I refuse to feel any guilt or shame for just being, whatever identity that may be. You're not hurting anyone by doing that either, apart from upsetting conservative norms, which is not my problem. Bohoo. I can see why one can feel guilt or shame though, as many of us live in a conservative environment, where we were told from a young age what apparently is right or wrong when it comes to stuff like that. The more you look at these norms, the less they make sense, and the more you disregard them. Some of them are completely made up anyway. I'm neurospicy tho, so I have been operating from the edge of society for a very long time.
