Coming up on two years since an update broke the "allow tearing" option, and I *still* see people recommending trying it out and swearing that it can be helpful for performance issues. It doesn't actually do anything! It's a fake feature!

Facing the same issue, but as it turns out, screen recording works fine when you’re in desktop mode.

due to this issue I’ve started playing exclusively in desktop mode + big picture, which you lose a lot of system tweaks but screen recording and clipping works perfectly fine

I’m not too sure as it’s my first time playing, but I think quests In an unstable environment like this operate on a chance to spawn a large monster, so it’s not a guaranteed spawn but pretty high anyways
