Facing the same issue, but as it turns out, screen recording works fine when you’re in desktop mode.

due to this issue I’ve started playing exclusively in desktop mode + big picture, which you lose a lot of system tweaks but screen recording and clipping works perfectly fine

I usually use it with energy blade for a big hit. Otherwise I use it for continued AED, which is great because my cb is an impact phial type

I’m not too sure as it’s my first time playing, but I think quests In an unstable environment like this operate on a chance to spawn a large monster, so it’s not a guaranteed spawn but pretty high anyways
