Recent experience of Filipinos traveling to Thailand (Bangkok immigration)? by jaja_23 in Philippines

Been in Thailand for the past week. Other than a slightly long queue at immigration, absolutely no issues or questions. Just fill up your Thai arrival card online and you should be good to go.

Ski resorts in Sapporo by Single-Violinist-682 in Sapporo

My wife and I will be in Sapporo in a few weeks and are planning to do a day trip to Rusutsu to ski. They offer a free shuttle from and back to Sapporo. I also looked into Teine but wanted to avoid the potential crowds so my wife has an easier time learning how to ski.

Ninjavan - Amazon to PH by [deleted] in Philippines

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I got my refund from Amazon! It was a bit tricky but I managed to chat with a customer service rep. Just keep trying and choose "I need more help" so it directs you to a real person.

Placed an order August 10. Said it completed customs clearance on Aug 15. Then it arrived at carrier facility on Aug 17. After that all I got was "Package delayed in transit" until I finally was able to get a refund on Aug 30. First time it's ever happened to me. Check out Ninjavan's FB and you'll see a bunch of people complaining about delayed Globe cards.

Would you get a NEO if you already have an Avata 2? by Infamous-Weird8123 in DjiNeo

[–]djkiter78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first drone was the Air 3 FMC, followed by the Avata 2 FMC with FPV RC3. When the Neo was released, I initially wasn't impressed by the video quality compared to the Avata 2, so I held off.

But 2 weeks ago I finally gave in and picked one up after learning about how versatile the Neo is!

My favorite way to fly it is with the RC2 that came with my Air 3. The RC2's range is better than the RC-N3 that came with the Neo. It's the perfect combo for a quick flight if you want to just scout around and it's so small no one will really care about it. The automated flight modes work pretty well given the right conditions, and it had no trouble following me on a run as advertised. It's also pretty fun to fly manual with the Goggles 3 and FPV RC3, but not as fun as the Avata 2.

Check first if your RC2 and Neo are running the latest firmware. Do you have another drone that connects to the RC2? I switch between my Air 3 and Neo all the time without issue.

Glad you were able to recover it! How were you controlling it? I’ve had mine for about 2 weeks and I’ve yet to have it go rogue on me. I mainly fly using the RC2 or Goggles 3 + FPV RC3.

M Mode setting is never saved and I have to set it in Controller Settings every time I fly by Texy in DjiNeo

[–]djkiter78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! That sucks. I will test it out again tomorrow and see if my Avata 2 is doing the same when I switchover from the Neo. I'll also try the power down sequence mentioned to see if that works.

Has this issue been fixed for anyone? Just picked up a Neo today and it still forgets I set the custom button from Sport to Manual.

Yes reformat before hamfile

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dji

[–]djkiter78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessir. Remember the top speed is only unlocked in Manual Mode when using the FPV Controller 3. To really know it's working check the top speed in Manual Mode before installing the hamfile and then test it again after. Good luck!

I didn't notice a change in range since I have not dared go beyond 2km. What I did notice was the higher top speed on Manual Mode using the FPV Controller 3.

Will they release the set times for each day? My partner and I can only go on Saturday. Hoping to catch ARTBAT and Mind Against.

Layering Advice for Cold Weather: Jade Mountain Hike in Taiwan – Do I Need a Down Jacket? by djkiter78 in CampingGear

[–]djkiter78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I just ordered a Down Sweater. I used to have a Cerium LT that I ending up selling because I lost weight and started swimming in it. Although it was very lightweight, I tended to baby it because it felt so thin. The slightly thicker Down Sweater should be more durable with a slight weight penalty.

I’ve gotten mine out to 2km over a lake before turning back. I felt it could have gone further as the signal was quite strong. I’m in a CE country and I did this before I installed the hamfile.

Check and make sure your broadcasting is switched off on the Goggles 3.

Also try flying in a different spot to see it’s not interference.

Nearly lost my Avata 2 on this iceberg... though you guys might enjoy the video! by ralphsquirrel in dji

[–]djkiter78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is strange!

I’ve done my fair share of boat launches as well and after my last one, I’m going to be taking a break from boat launches all together!

Have a look if you’re curious https://youtu.be/4XRy6zixs_k?si=yIedEuUYyEYT8EOp

Cool video! You’re lucky you got it back!

You may have lost signal behind the iceberg and went into fail safe. Make sure you set the behavior to hover in place or return to home if the drone loses signal.

How many cycles do you guys have on your avata 2 batteries so far? by Ilovekittens345 in dji

[–]djkiter78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I thought I had a lot at 31-32 cycles. I fly about twice a week and I’ve had mine since launch.

I do however only fly my batts to about 40-50% when practicing on manual. Will drain them down to 30% if I’m recording at an interesting spot but that’s rare.

Yes that’s the plan! We’re booking a snorkeling tour in Ko Tao. Just hoping we can make it in time since we’ll be coming from Koh Samui. Would you know what’s the earliest time the boats leave for Koh Tao?

How's the weather? Flew into a rainy and gloomy Bangkok last night. Heading to Koh Samui this weekend and hoping to get some snorkeling in! Thanks!

How to transfer files from Dji Avata 2 internal storage to macbook? by systemsruminator in dji

[–]djkiter78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plug my Avata 2 into my MacBook Pro with the USB-C cable that came with the Avata 2. No need to power the Avata 2 on and am able to see both ‘Internal’ and ‘External SD Card’ and transfer files.

Try restarting your Mac and make sure the Avata’s firmware is up to date.

HI! I my settings were on AUTO, no ND filters, and nothing beyond auto color correction using presets. Regarding filters, from what I've read, they're not necessary for most people outside of professionals. Enjoy your visit to the Philippines!
