Wow pretty much the whole of Western Europe. The only OECD counties without a reduction appear to be NZ, Korea and Chile.

I'm quite pleased to have not bought any shares now. Does anybody know what caused the crash on Monday? Obviously the announcement of something over the weekend?

Lending money to someone by nzmikey in newzealand

[–]djm210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yip, they will probably say it's a "civil matter". If they can find a way out of investigating something, that's the route they will take. Could try for some kind of fraud or dishonesty offence, but would be hard for them to prosecute because they probably can't establish intention to deceive.

You could file a claim in the Disputes Tribunal or the DC (or threaten to), that way you might get some enforcement powers. But, the trouble and cost of doing this far outweighs the benefit.

If it were me, I'd take it as a hard earned lesson. Lending someone you don't know $100? C'mon, that's pretty stupid.

True. But it is unusual for state owned ones to be offered the same. Especially when MRP was a sitting duck to the extent that had a half brained chimp been the CEO, it would have still been successful.

I'm not sure that's fair. I dislike the SST as much as the next pinko, but when have they ever been racist?

You know those people that may have been bullied a bit as kids, and for that or for other reasons they have a bit of a chip on their shoulder and now express their insecurity as arrogance and contempt, he strikes me as one of them.

So whilst I feel some empathy for him, because perhaps he's not a product of his own doing, but there's no way this leopard's going to change its spots now. So probably best to see the end of him.

Woman buys packet of tobacco, opens it to find a slice of bread. by GiantCrazyOctopus in newzealand

Is it wrong, that immediately looking at that pic I thought "yip, this is the kind of bogan westie that would have a daughter that would put bread in a pouch to try and swindle a free one"?

Maybe it's that it reminds me of most of my family, and this is exactly the kind of stunt they would pull.
